The rooms definitely need some updates. The beds were not comfortable. The front desk stuff was very polite and accommodating. The breakfast was good. The pool was warm and the hot tub was great. We had a good stay. The only think I would complain about is the parking. The garage is not made for cars like SUV or bigger. We saw two cars who scratched their door while trying to navigate it. Definitely not for someone with bigger cars.

It's a place where locals can stay, although they call locals people who live in Horry County, but you can't get local (Myrtle Beach ) perks lol

The room was on an upper floor on the oceanside, giving us a fabulous view of the beach. And we were still able to hear the rush of the waves all night long -- a bonus -- without all the random "people" noises. The room was quite comfortable with a kitchen at the entrance, overlooking the living room/dining room space. The first balcony was off the living room/dining room space. The only drawback to this particular balcony was the view of the neighboring hotel's balconies. The bedroom also had a balcony which was far more private. Sitting out there, you did not see the neighboring hotels. You only see beachfront. Totally fantastic. Breakfast was the typical hotel hot breakfast -- nothing outstanding but edible. While there were a few places to visit within easy walking distance, the majority were best accessed via car. Having the parking garage right across the street from The Strand was a big bonus. Do yourself a favor, though, and bring a smaller vehicle as this parking garage is not meant for trucks. Still it was very convenient. All in all, this is an excellent choice for a short getaway.

Great place to just relax and enjoy the view

My daughter and I spent three nights at the Strand in a two queen bedroom ocean view suite. It was very clean, the furniture was comfortable (especially the beds) and the view from the balconies (each bedroom had it's own balcony, which was unusual and wonderful) were just beautiful. Linda, at the front desk, was especially helpful and friendly..
