I called and requested an early check in and was told it wouldn’t be an issue. I get there and there’s nothing available. The site says you can use amenities if your room isn’t available. What they don’t tell you is that you have to specifically request this, and the workers look at you like you’re crazy. It also doesn’t mention that there is not a single bathroom available to the public. You have to have a key card. The one given to me didn’t work and had to be exchanged 3 times. After an hour, we get to the pool. It was nice but filthy. It’s clear that it’s not very well cleaned. When we were finally allowed into our room, that was also dirty but we wrote it off as being all the sand from the balcony. Our microwave didn’t work, at all. The towel bar in our bathroom was broken. We had 2 towels total for a suite. When I mentioned things broken, dirty, not working, I was basically told “this is what’s available” For what is being charged, I expect a hell of a lot better. Our key cards had to be re-magnetized daily. Overall just a hugely unpleasant stay. And we are still waiting 4 days later for our deposit to be returned.

WE ARRIVED TO A FILTHY LOBBY. FLOORS AND WINDOWS WERE DIRTY. WE WERE GIVEN OUR ROOM ASSIGNMENT AND WENT IN TO FIND THE AIR CONDITIONER NOT WORKING. WE CALLED THE DESK THEY SENT MAINTENANCE THAT COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM SO WEREWERE GIVEN ANOTHER ROOM. THIS ROOM HAD WORKING A/C BUT THE CURTAINS AT THE BALCONY WERE HALF HANGING UNATTACHED TO THE ROD. I WENT TO CHECK THE BATHROOM AND FOUNDTHE SINK WAS CRACKED AND HANGING ABOUT 3 INCHES FROM THE COUNTERTOP. I FELT HORRIBLE ALREADY. I WALKED ON THE BALCONY TO TAKE IN THE SEA AIR AND ALL I COULD SMELL WAS MARIJUANA AND I IMMEDIATELY WENT BACK INSIDE. HOTELS .COM SHOWED AMENITIES AT THIS RESORT. A GRILL AND RESTAURANT AND A TIKI BAR. THERE WERE NEITHER OPERATING. WE WERE TOLD THE GRILL WOULD OPEN AT 11 ORDER AT THE TIKI BAR. NEITHER OPENED. WE SETTLED FOR STARBUCKS DOWN THE STREET. NEXT WE STARTED TO BED ATO FIND THE SHEETS WERE DAMP FROM NOT BEING FULLY DRIED IN THE DRYER. WE PUT TOWELS DOWN TO GET THROUGHT HE NIGHT. WE TRIED TO USE THE PHONE TO CONTACT THE DESK AND IT DIDNT WORK. SUNDAY MORNING WE NEEDED DRINKS TO TAKE MEDS ECT. WE WENT DOWN TO THE LOBBY TO FIND OUT THERE WAS NO COFFE NOWATER FOR GUESTS AND NO VENDING MACHINES OF ANY KIND TO GET ANYTHING. THE POOL WAS FILTHY ALSO. I WOULD SUGGEST NOT TO BOOK AT SANDCASTLE AND NEVER TRUST HOTELS.COM TO LIST ACCREDITED HOTELS. LOOK ELSEWARE.

I didn't like the fact that the stove was dirty, I had to request pots and pans to cook, then when I tried to cook smoke was coming out of the stove, so we whined up eating out. the room wasn't that clean, when I tried calling for room service the phone didn't work. I decided to check out 1 day early because I wasn't satisfied with this hotel. What I liked most about the place was the staff.

I picked SandCastle Oceanfront Resort because the resort had high reviews. It was Mothers Day weekend 2025 and the amenities advertised by the resort were falsely advertised. The outside swimming pool wasn’t open or cleaned. The resort just started filling it up while we were there. The restaurant and bar was closed and non-operational. Only one hot tub of two was working and usable. The lazy river wasn’t open. No attendant checked our room while we were there, trash wasn’t emptied or room cleaned and new towels provided. You had to go to front lobby and request something if needed. The stove in our room had rusted chrome plates under the burners. Overall my visit wasn’t the worst, I love Myrtle Beach but my visit wasn’t the greatest neither and my experience at the resort was very disappointing. I came from Pennsylvania 10 hours away to enjoy Bike Week and here it was mid-May already and the resort wasn’t prepared and in a ready status to afford its guest all the amenities and services it offers other than a room to sleep and shower.

Our stay at this resort was nice! Unfortunately the weather at the beach wasn’t great but we were able to enjoy the pool/hot tub that was indoors. We also still got a great view of the beach from our room. The room was clean and comfortable. The outdoor hallways are a little ran down. The only problem we had was no shower curtain in the bathroom and the tv remote (ended up being the tv) was broken. However, the staff was very friendly and had a shower curtain and new tv brought in. She also took $25 off my stay for the inconvenience without me having to ask! I’ve stayed here before this time and have been satisfied with my stay both times!

Room service was terrible, no maid service at all, had to beg for clean towels and toilet paper. No utensils in efficiency room, floor was coming up in bath room. Pool was closed all week due to fatal accident. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Front desk people were rude accept for one girl.

It was an average hotel, I will say there was a massive group of college students there when we went and they were so loud and drunk it was very uncomfortable to be walking around anywhere in the hotel we couldn’t even swim in the pools.We also had major issues with the first room we booked the card scanner for the key card on the door was broken, for the first two days.But luckily the staff was amazing they got us another room that was honestly a step up from the last.And on the last night we were there after extending our stay, someone that was staying on the same floor as us jumped off the 9th floor balcony and died.

This was the worst hotel stay we’ve ever had. Advertised restaurant and poolside bar were not open at all. No vending or pop machines on site. Room was filthy! No housekeeping during 7 day stay although listed as daily. No dishes or silverware-asked for minimal and got 2 bowls and 2 spoons. Staff was extremely rude except for 1 maintenance man.

Took over 40 mins to check in and our room got switched. Inside our room there was a mysterious brown splotch on the ground and bed. I saw a random white pill in the bathroom. Also I would suggest doing your research on this hotel. There’s been at least 2 passings at this hotel. 1 of those passings happened the night we checked in… So be careful. The best part about this hotel was the beach view and easy access to the beach.My husband and I loved our experience in Myrtle Beach besides the hotel. Next time my husband and I will definitely spend a little more money for a nicer hotel.
