The room was very clean. Julio( chef at breakfast) did a fantastic job handling 3 omelet pans and the waffle maker as well as restocking items needed for omelets. I was totally amazed at his efficiency. Our waiters Carlos (breakfast) and Jacob (dinner) were very observant of our needs and extremely polite. Would have been nice to have a hair dryer in the room

Oglebay Resort is a lovely facility but their staffing and room cleaning procedures need major attention. Our room was not cleaned and available until 5:40 PM! This is not acceptable. Tracey, the front desk staff member was wonderful in working to solve the problem which was not of her making. She provided a free buffet breakfast coupon for the two of us, 2 gift packs with car passes for the Light Festival, an upgraded room and Christmas ornaments as well as a a complimentary night's stay in the future. I truly hope this problem will be permanently resolved for my next stay.

The resort was nice, old of course. The room was pitiful. No clock, no refrigerator, no microwave. The bed was hard as a rock. The cost of the room for the 2 nights was absolutely ridiculous in relation to what we stayed in. There was not even a dirty clothes bag for us to use.

2.5 stars. Check in was a long wait and painful. Understaffed at the front desk and throughout the amenities. Poor signage throughout our visit. Rooms were great. Skyline was awesome. Trace chophouse was very disappointing. Cold food and missed the detail i expected from a high end steakhouse. Don’t wast your time. Service was mid. Dinning area was dirty. The Christmas experience was ok. The Santa village was lame except the hot chocolate. Pictures with Santa was worse time in traffic. Put a Santa in lodge. There is nothing exclusive except the candy cordial. The classes were the worse. Kids horsing around in the pool during pool Pilates is lame. And you moved the tai chi off the property . Speaking of property, Cafe 1925 and Starbucks is off the property. Take it off the site! That’s a scam! Soritas coffee was terrible! They ran out of food! And understaffed! Festival of Lights , zoo , and spa were great. Really overrated. Staff was not super friendly. Felt touristy.

Wonderful place for Christmas that feels like a Christmas Hallmark Moive. Cozy areas with multiple fire places. Lots of families. It's our annual family tradition to visit in December for the holidays.

Breakfast buffet was wonderful and included made to order eggs, which were fantastic. My wife and I really enjoyed the steakhouse called Trace. In fact, we ate there twice. A little bit pricey, but worth it. As for our room, it was fantastic. We even had our very own fireplace, which was most romantic. This is an awesome resort for a little getaway.
