We really liked this hotel! We travel all year for our child’s sport, and we were delighted with this little retro gem. It is about 10 min from the Virginia Horse Center. The room was clean and comfortable. The only issue noted was a lack of hot water our first night. The hotel addressed the issue immediately and hot water was back the following morning. The breakfast was standard fare, sufficient for our needs, and the coffee was surprisingly good. This will be our go-to for any future VHC events.

Very clean but not enough housekeeping attention

Rooms were very clean, no bugs. Sink stopper was on the floor, tub had obvious wear, bathroom walls were dirty, sink and toilet were clean. Front staff was very pleasant, housekeeping did not come every day so we ran out of towels, toilet paper and the garbage ended up overflowing. Gorgeous view from the front side of the hotel.

Disappointing

Unfortunately when we arrived and settled into our room we found that there was some sort of animal living in the wall behind the bed and the noise of the animal moving and scratching was unsettling and we had to move rooms. Second room had no animals in the wall but we woke up and found cockroach on the counters. Room was sprayed while we were out. I know bugs are often difficult to avoid but this was quite dissapointing.

Room was noisy as it was facing the highway and prevented a good nights sleep together with the short square hard pillows. As for the breakfast it was limited and the bread was not replenished and just old stuff. The juice has a bad metal taste and yoghurts had to be asked for.

The bed was so comfortable!!! There was great water pressure when I showered at night. I was kind of hoping breakfast would have been a little bigger but it was still good. Check in was amazing there was a college track team that pulled up same time as us with 2 tour buses but check in was so fast

I am a long time customer and have always enjoyed staying at HoJo. This past time however, the staff was very rude. The woman in the morning before I checked out was nasty when I asked her a question. I do really like HoJos, but they could improve by better training their staff and hiring individuals that are more upbeat.
