This was a return trip for us. The 1st time we stayed on the 1st floor. Room was perfect. This time we were on the 3rd floor. The room smelled like wet puppies. We kept the balcony door open to help air the room out. Otherwise iur stay was good.

Ok but dated

The hotel is clean, but dated. Off the beaten path with an abandoned HoJo's restaurant next door, up a long hill - not the easiest to find at night, and some of the parking (esp if front lot is full) is a dark walk to the reception area. Room was comfortable, breakfast unremarkable but breakfast hours are good. Not my first choice in the area but it was adequate for our needs; just not a fan of dark parking lots at night.

Great view, rate and clean

I was pleasantly surprised with the motel. The exterior and interior was clean and well taken care of, though the grass needed a mowing. The motel was on a hillside so the place had benches outside to sit on and observe the hills and other nice scenery.There was a nice playground for the kids and very dog-friendly.It was quiet and best of all the rooms on the first floor had sliding glass doors where you could step right out and get some fresh air. The only addition I would add could be that there be a chair outside on the patio!

Poor experience

My brother and I spent a few nights at this hotel, the Howard Johnson by Wyndham in Lexington, Virginia. It was a bad experience. The breakfast was really poor in diversity and quality. No eggs, no meats, no peanut butter, but only white bread and similar bagels, cheap jelly and cheap yogurt. Merely no fruits; just some apples. The orange juice provided was warm, which is absolutely disgusting. If you can’t provide a decent breakfast, don’t say the breakfast is included in your publicity. That is NOT a breakfast! It is merely a “light” snack. If you find that it cost too much to buy decent food, increase your fees a little bit, but serve a REAL breakfast! Also there’s a problem with the noise. I could hardly sleep because the noise coming from the traffic on Highway 81 was very loud, all day long, and all night long. Another problem is that there were « stink bugs » in the room close to the patio doors. Happily, they were dead but it was really disgusting to see them on the floor, and there was plenty of them. At least, remove there dead body when you clean the room ! Last thing, we are in spring 2025 and there is a lot of electric cars on the road. Well this hotel doesn’t provide any source of electrical power outside of the building to charge car battery. For this review, I can give a 4 on 10. Very deceiving. We will NEVER come back here, and also, we will make sure that all our relatives and friends will NEVER come here.

Just kinda "MEH." Breakfast "dining consisted of Fruit-Loops and toast essentially. And who knew paper products (toilet paper, facial tissue, etc.) could be both flimsy AND the consistency of sandpaper? Not ever planning on staying again, but as they say "any port ina storm...."

Clean hotel

The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were crisp and clean, the room was spacious. The bathroom tub needed some Clorax 2 it was dingy looking and the floor had hair on it.Otherwise it wasn't too bad. Breakfast could have used some eggs bacon and sausage and some pancakes.
