This hotel has so much potential. It’s a shame the current owners won’t even update the carpet. If you have to put your shoes on to walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night there’s a problem. I will probably stay at a bed and breakfast my next trip.

The charm of a beautiful historic hotel wears off when there is no place for my wife to put her curling iron in the bathroom because it has a pedestal sink, there is no refrigerator or microwave or safe in the room, and there’s no ice machine.

Historic lakeside hotel that delivers a classic vibe in a great location. Park and enjoy all Mt. Dora has to offer. Sitting in a rocking chair on the veranda overlooking Lake Dora is a great way to unwind, especially when accompanied by one of the thoughtfully crafted cocktails from the bar. Perfect spot to relax and walkable not only to all downtown offers but great parks just to the east for nature lovers.

We saw the Lakeside in while visiting Mount Dora's Blueberry festival the previous year and thought it was so lovely. We stayed 2 nights. All of the employees were super nice and helpful.We loved the historic feel of the inn and the gorgeous grounds. The room was large with even a walk in closet. Furnishings were appropriate for the age of the building and in good condition. Bed was comfortable. Improvements could be made, perhaps new/cleaned carpets and provide a fridge. We loved the Lakeside Inn and will return.

Quaint hotel for a quaint town

This was a lovely historical hotel. It had old time charm a step back into time feel. Rocking on the veranda and watching sunset was lovely. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel, this is not it and you don't want it to be. The rooms were adequate and had the old feel. The one thing I do want to note, getting into the tub it was slippery so beware. The Inn was close to everything. Walking on some of the streets in town were uneven and could be an issue for some. Took the sunset pontoon boat right from their dock and it was lovely.

Great Location in Mt. Dora

The hotel has an excellent location, we stayed before and love it! The main hotel is older, the tub was a bit peeling, and one of the mattresses was lumpy but when I told the desk, they were glad it was brought to their attention. They can't fix what they don't know is broken. The grounds are lovely and on the lake.

We were here for one night during our honeymoon and loved the location of the inn, the view of the lake was gorgeous and the proximity to downtown made walking everywhere so convenient. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel at home, and one of them gave us a free drink voucher when we mentioned it was our honeymoon. Our only complaints were that the toilets didn’t seem to flush completely and the door to the bathroom in our room didn’t close all the way, but aside from that, we enjoyed our stay very much!

Beautiful Views, Great Location

The Lakeside Inn is a lovely old inn with beautiful lake views and a great place to stay because you can park and then walk around Mt. Dora to restaurants, shops, and entertainment. Because it's "old" it does need some renovation but the grounds are beautiful.

Lovely historical hotel easily walkable to all the tourist areas and dining options in Mount Dora. Very nice veranda with views of the lake and beyond to enjoy a morning coffee. Very relaxing atmosphere within the hotel with all the staff very helpful and informative of the facilities and local area.
