I’m writing to express my disappointment with our recent stay in Room 148. This was our third visit, and unfortunately, it did not reflect the quality we previously experienced. The room was not cleaned properly—floors were dirty, the sink was clogged, and essential items like a shower cap and Q-tips were missing. Our room was never serviced, and we weren’t provided a “Do Not Disturb” sign. We were also not informed that the property was under construction. Our room was placed directly next to the work, which disturbed our 14-month-old. Had we known, we likely would have made other arrangements. Additionally, the Calusa restaurant was closed, and we were told its menu would be available through room service. This was not true. Key dishes were missing, and the alternatives were disappointing. The Mexican restaurant served undercooked rice, inedible beans, and canned tuna in place of fresh sushi. Mosquitoes were also a major issue throughout the resort, making it difficult to enjoy the outdoor space. We’ve had great experiences in the past, but this visit felt misleading and subpar. I hope management will offer a fair resolution.

The view was nice and the room was clean but there was a construction crew I wasn’t aware until we arrived. Also, we made a reservation at the hotel restaurant and when we arrived, it was closed for renovations and nobody told us. It was disappointing

Nice Place to Stay in Key Largo Under Construction

We enjoyed time in Key Largo at Bakers Cay, a Hilton Curio Collection property. I am sure this ranks highly among places to stay in Key Largo. The property is under construction in several room areas. We stayed in the Hammock Room. Our room on the 4th floor was nice. Sheets were not changed daily but made and housekeeping arrived. One restaurant in property had a limited menu. Restaurant atmosphere was beautiful but a larger restaurant was closed on the property. I would have preferred that the hotel noted it was under construction (even on Saturday) - we stayed 4 nights, all days heard construction hammers and drills.
