Tipi’s are a lot smaller than you think & full of dust ofc, good for couples ig but not if you have small kids. Tipi’s have an opening up top so if it rains you’ll get wet. You’ll definitely get dust everywhere. Didn’t end up staying in our reserved tipi & no money back because it was too late. Overall nothing like the photos, if you’re looking for glamping it’s not it.

There were no sheets or pillow cases on the beds or in the wagons at all. Had to go get them from the front desk and make our own beds. The floor was filthy. The heater didn’t work- we froze to death. The bathrooms were ATROCIOUS. Toilets running over, the floors felt like they were going to cave in, and they were covered in mud. If it wasn’t in the middle of nowhere and we hadnt arrived late at night- I would’ve paid big money to stay anywhere else. I couldn’t wait for daybreak to get out of there. We have stayed in huts in the woods before- so it wasn’t like I didn’t know what to expect. But I’d at least expect it to be clean and with linens.

Staff is helpful but some of the options such as tipi is just barebones with no outlet, heating, or wifi service, especially ones to the further end of the campsite. Morning in early August becomes freezing cold. Sheets and blankets provided are stained and dirty from previous use. On the plus side, the panoramic scene is amazing. There’s also a cozy and warm lodge where you can charge your phone in relative safety.

The ranch and staff where outstanding however I was not prepared for the distance from the washroom and the remoteness of the tepee.

If you’re looking for an authentic Wyoming ranch experience—like really authentic—Buffal Valley Ranch is the place for you. Picture horses trotting by your wagon at sunrise, wolves howling under the stars, and a front-row seat to ranch life. Our wagon was just 20 yards from the horses, which was super fun to watch, but yep—you’ll definitely be reminded that horses are large, majestic animals… with digestive systems. It’s part of the charm! We highly recommend bringing earplugs or a white noise machine to help you drift off. Between the nighttime wolf serenades and early-morning ranch hands starting chores with their trusty 4-wheelers, it’s not exactly a quiet night’s sleep—but it is memorable. Now, we did have one hiccup: no one showed us how to use the little heater in our wagon. So when the temps dropped from sunny 80s to chilly 40s overnight, we bundled up and powered through a brisk, pioneer-style night. Lesson learned—ask about the heater at check-in All in all, Buffalo Valley Ranch offers a truly unique and rustic adventure. If you’re up for a little dust, a lot of character, and don’t mind trading a hotel’s clean and comfort for a wagon under the stars—you’ll have a great time. Just maybe pack a few layer

DONT LET THE PICTURES DECEIVE YOU !!

HORRIBLE. I have spent many nights roughing it in various places to be close to National Parks…This was the worst!! I walked into covered wagon and walked right back out. Forfeited money for 2 night stay and I was more than ok with that. The wagon was filthy. Couldn’t breathe in there. It was so dusty/dirty. Felt like I was breathing in saw dust. The horse pen was about 10ft from wagon. The smell was terrible. Went to cafe to try to escape wagon while I decided what to do and spent $112 on a cheeseburger, Caesar salad and kids chicken nugget meal.

Bought bedding, didn’t include pillows so you have to bring your own. Women’s bathroom by the teepees was dirty and had a broken shower. Waiter ignored us when we were trying to order. We went to a different restaurant outside of the ranch and paid less with better service

Several things one needs to be aware of before staying here in a tipi or covered wagon. There are 3 shared bathrooms/shower stalls for all guests in tipi/covered wagons. Water pressure is near zero with no hot water. They do not have linens, you must bring your own or rent theirs for an extra fee. Restaurant on site charges a 20% gratuity fee, even though you stand in line to order and pick up your food yourself. Restaurant is expensive for what it is, but there are no other food options in the area. The bill for 5 of us, each with burger and fries meals and no drinks was $127 total.

WORST experience

There are not enough washroom for guests and they are in BAD condition (1 of the bathroom only have cold water so I had a cold shower) Tents are so close I heard the neighbor SNORING. No place to enjoy a campfire or a picnic table to have a meal

The sweetest stuff ever ! My kids enjoyed horses and goats. Absolutely beautiful view in the morning. Overall nice experience but the wagons should be swept… that is my only complaint. The bathrooms were clean and heated !
