I witnessed several drug deals in the parking lot. There were several vehicles idling in the parking lot throughout the night with people sitting in them. Trash bags and litter throughout the hallways. Some of the entry doors were not functioning. A snickers candy bar in the lobby cost me $4. There were no towels in my bathroom. The stench of cigarette smoke was pervasive throughout hallways. The woman that checked me in was pleasant enough.

The room was fair for the price. The toilet had an obvious slow leak that was reported to the main desk. It appeared to never be repaired because water continued to leak. Also a metal bar that held the slider door locked a secured, had broken and fallen. I also reported to the front desk at 10:30 pm, as I came back to a slightly open door, because of a storm and very active winds. The desk man checked the door and was sure it was ok for the night. But the wind opened the door again a second time. Being a woman and by myself, I rigged the door myself with the fallen pieces I could find to keep it securely closed. I was disappointed with the maintenance and cleanliness of the hallways. The ice machine was dripping water and it was being collected in a bucket. However, one night the bucket did not get dumped and water soaked into the carpet creating a 6 foot lake in the carpeting by the next morning. Breakfast was limited. Offering everyone in the hotel one waffle maker. So, you had to wait your turn every am to make your waffle. Yogurt and packaged muffins are available as you wait your turn. The woman stocking and maintaining the breakfast area did not speak English nor do a very good job of keeping the area clean. When syrup or coffee was spilt, she would use a spall napkin to clean it up instead of a wet washcloth. Leaving the tables sticky. But in all- you get what you pay for….. The pool was well maintained, but the temperature was chilly. We still used it briefly.

No Stairs for upper floors. No access from nearby parking behind the hotel into the premises unless someone lets you in as if it was an emergency exit. Bed was hard as a rock. And unlike everywhere else, no extra blankets. On the up side, it was quiet.

Staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and comfortable. They do not clean room during your stay but gladly gave us fresh towels and coffee packs. The lobby is beautiful! Breakfast chairs need cleaned and breakfast did not have eggs or meat (important for low carbers!)but did have yogurt and apples as healthy choices. Pool was very nice. If you aren't from CT, be prepared for marijuana smell wherever you go! Management picked us up from airport but didn't operate early enough on return. They are still upgrading things and we'd definitely stay again.
