Excellent front desk staff member at check-in. Room was clean, but towels were threadbare.Odd bed frame with thin metal sides from mattress to floor that rattled every time you kicked it or sat on the side of the bed. Mattress appeared new, but was a bit hard ... could have used a padded mattress cover.

This is our favorite place to stay between El Paso and San Diego. It's always welcoming and well-prepared. This time we stayed in the new wing. Our room was basic and simple, but lovely and comfortable. Thanks, Gila Bend Lodge!

The check-in person was very helpful. We left early before the lobby was open for breakfast, but there was a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave in the room. The room was clean with huge bathroom and shower.

The staff is nice and friendly, and check-in was easy when we arrived at almost midnight. The employees are very pleasant and welcoming, and the check-in process was smooth even though we arrived close to midnight. The hotel is well-maintained, showing that they have put in effort.

We had a room in what looked like a newly built building. The air was not on when we entered. The room was 87° and it was about 108 outside. We turned on the AC but it never cooled the room off. It was very warm and uncomfortable sleeping. The pillows were not soft and it made for an uncomfortable night. Other than that it was fine.

Still a great place

We're familiar with Gila Bend Lodge, because we stop there about twice per year on our cross-country trek. This time, we were a bit concerned when we pulled in. It appeared that multiple families might be living there. We could have been mistaken, but it seemed as if the activity on the grounds and in the pool were that of people very comfortable with the property and surroundings. But we needn't have worried. Whether the people on the property were residents or travelers, we had no trouble with them. This is a good value property--low priced but clean and comfortable. And the young woman in the office has the check-in process down to a science. Very efficient!
