Trekker Townhome / Mountain Charm / New Floors!

Summary:
Welcome to the new Georgetown, Colorado! The 45-minute drive from Denver will take you back in time and far from your ordinary day-to-day doldrums. Our sparkling new lakefront town home is nestled at the base of Guanella Pass, one of the Rockies’ most beautiful destinations. With three bedrooms, there is room for everyone in this lovely mountain escape. For the best in hiking, skiing, wildlife, local culture and history, the Rocky Mountains are calling and you must go!

The Space:
Explore the Rockies from your new favorite home base at popular Bighorn Crossing! Two stories, three bedrooms and two and half bathrooms all add up to a gem of the townhome that’s both comfy and roomy. Whether you’re a Colorado greenhorn, a repeat visitor or a Denver local looking to breathe free for the weekend, there’s never a bad time to enjoy the Centennial State’s 300 days of sunshine. Check out our neighbor, Cabin Creek Brewing, for a taste of Colorado's famous golden nectar.

Shred at Arapahoe Basin, Keystone or Loveland Ski Area, all within easy reach. Step back in time on the Georgetown Loop Railroad. And hiking is literally on your doorstep -- just lace up your boots and head outside for a relaxing stroll. Keep an eye out for a variety of wildlife, including Georgetown’s famous bighorn sheep.

One thing our guests love about the home is the awesome layout. The great room, one of the guest bedrooms, a half bath as well as the kitchen and breakfast bar are all on the main floor. This is so perfect for all groups, but especially those travelling with people who have trouble with stairs! The first-floor bedroom is playfully decked out with rustic and stylish bunk beds. Of course this is a great option for those traveling with kids, but to be honest they’re just as big a hit with our adult guests! The floors are beautiful and everything is brand new in this mountain oasis.

The kitchen will exceed your expectations: full of modern appliances, with plenty of counter space and everything you need to whip up a meal or snack. Brew up your morning cup and partake in the popular Colorado pastime of waking up with coffee, birds and wildlife. Everything is fully stocked for your convenience.

Weather keeping you inside? The variety of comfy lounging spots are perfect for relaxing, snuggling and enjoying the peace and quiet. And if you’re looking to unplug, the lovely view is also visible from the couches. One of two guest bedrooms is also downstairs.

Head upstairs to find the master bedroom and the second guest bedroom. We are huge fans of upstairs bedrooms in general, but these are especially pleasant and well appointed. The master has a queen bed outfitted with luxury linens. The master bath delivers some nice upgrades like a walk-in shower and his-and-her sinks. Prepare for a day of adventure while gazing out the window at Georgetown’s natural splendor. Also upstairs you’ll find a guest bedroom with another queen bed. The full guest bathroom is a necessity for group and family travel.

Stay for the night, the week, or longer! We love to accommodate extended stays. This space is Colorado personified and distilled into one luxurious, cute package with all the bells and whistles. Book with confidence today!

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire space.
**Hot tub and Pool is located in the Wyndham Microtel, walking distance to the condo. **

The Neighborhood:
Originally a mining town in the 1800s, Georgetown was named after George Griffith. Looming over Georgetown, Griffith Mountain was named after George’s brother, Davis. Griffith Mountain tops out at 11,558 feet, and you can sign the climber’s log once you make it to the top. If you want to conquer one of Colorado’s legendary fourteeners, just drive down to Guanella Pass. At 14,065 feet above sea level, Mount Bierstadt will offer you the view of a lifetime. Backcountry ponds, streams, snowshoeing, and even skiing at the long-closed Geneva Basin are all waiting for you just up over the hill. If you want to stay within the civilized confines of Georgetown, the Georgetown Loop Railroad, shopping, art galleries, walking tours, fishing, mine tours, and fine dining are all within easy reach.

Other Things to Note:
Check out the new brewery in town for a refreshing drink!

Note that there is no AC in the town home. This is normal for homes at 8530' elevation. Open the windows and enjoy the fresh breeze, even in the middle of the summer!

Absolutely, NO PETS OR SMOKING in the home. A fine from the security deposit will be withheld if house rules are broken.

Please park in the garage or behind the garage. Do not block driveways to other units.

This rental is a really nice little spot in Georgetown, with its location just a 2-minute walk to a local brewery and a short drive (or walk) to town. It’s also super close to the Grays & Torreys trailhead, which was the main reason for my visit.Pros: The space is modern, clean, and well-kept. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, the washer/dryer (with detergent and dryer sheets provided) was very convenient, and easy access to the hotel pool and hot tub just a short walk away was a great perk. Communication with the property managers was quick and helpful, and I appreciated that the checkout list was simple and reasonable. With the windows closed, it’s also very quiet inside.Cons: With the windows open, the noise from I-70 is pretty loud, and the outside area leaves much to be desired—mostly dirt and gravel, not much foliage. But where this place really lost 1 star for me was the sleeping arrangements. The upstairs queen beds felt like discount mattresses with poor-quality pillows (either flat pancakes or lumpy sacks). I literally did not get a single minute of sleep the night before my double 14er because of how uncomfortable the bed was. The second night I only managed some rest because I was so exhausted, though I still woke up often. This was shocking given how nice the rest of the place is—I would’ve expected better. The bunk bed mattresses downstairs were apparently more comfortable, but main beds fell terribly short and heavily impacted the stay.

Great house for our family, we loved the location and setup of the house. Traveled with our family of 5, 3 kids ages 1-9, plus us adults. There was a miscommunication on the use of baby gear(packnplay, highchair) so we brought our own but both were there available for us to use. We loved the lovation to the lake, we paddleboarded and fished every day being so close to the lake. Only complaints would be the noise from the interstate(not an issue for us but our parents who stayed next door couldnt sleep with the road noise and windows open), cleanliness could have been better, and some accomodations to be more home like, scissors, kleenex, and nicer toilet paper would make this a 5 star home. Overall a nice place to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay and the location worked out fantastic for us. We has a few glitches but the property manager answered every call quickly and walked us through the issues. We loved the Gaunella Pass and were lucky enough to see a herd of rams and moose. Spectacular views and a quaint town.

Good enough?

The house is nice to look at in pictures, if you arrive at night you will be convinced you drove on to a construction site. It's A LOT smaller in person, but you still get what is pictured. FYI for those that cherish their sleep/rest, those are some of the hardest beds my family and I have ever slept on, but we were so worn out from our activities we tried to not notice. House is clean, but just don't look too closely. On our first night we weren't able to lock the door, management was quick to answer, but we ended up just figuring it out ourselves by using the couch and a prayer the rest of our stay.

Disappointing stay in middle of construction zone

The apartment itself was new, and nicely cleaned. However NOWHERE in the VRBO listing did we see anything that talked about the unit being in the middle of an active construction zone replete with dirt construction roads throughout badly potholed and generally very unsightly surroundings. My morning coffee on the front porch presented us with beautiful Rocky Mountains in the background but nothing other than a mutliple football field sized zone of chain link fencing, construction materials, debris and construction equipment. In addition it was clear that our unit was quickly brought to market too early to get the rental revenue stream early but with a punch list of poorly executed details throughout. Broken windows, broken bathroom latch, badly stained carpet with exposed tack strips upstairs are just a partial list. I will have to think 2 or 3 times before using VRBO again. Would love to have you give me a partial refund as this was a costly rental for 1 night and completely uncompetitive IMHO.

Good location on lake but lots of problems

The place was in a good location in Georgetown next to the brewery and the lake. But the place was not cleaned well, the carpet is filthy. The heat doesn’t work and the ceiling fan is broken.

Beautiful Spot

What a gem nestled about 45 mins away from Denver. This location worked great for us. The town of Georgetown is pretty cool, with great restaurants and hiking near. Beautiful views, but the only downside was the construction happening on the road coming in and in the front part of the house. Would definitely come back again.

Quick Georgetown Visit

We just needed a place to stay for the night after seeing a show at Red Rocks and then heading to Aspen. The unit was clean and as described. Communications with the property manager were great. He was responsive and we were able to get into the unit a bit earlier than normal which was really appreciated.

Wonderful Mountain getaway

Based on the price point - you can’t beat this place. If you are vacationing in Colorado you hopefully aren’t expecting to sit around at home all day long. The house offers 3 bedrooms - a kitchen with enough to live comfortably. The living room has enough space to sit and visit. This location is within an hour drive or so many Colorado hot spots. The morning walks around the lake are breathtaking. The drive up Guanella Pass was a huge hit. We also recommend the Georgetown Loop Railroad ride. We will recommend this place to all our friends

Nice place close to Loveland Ski Resort

Overall I enjoyed the rental. It started out rough because I received a phone call from the property managers letting me know they were having an issue getting the prior tenants to leave. I was offered an overnight stay at a hotel close by, but it was just too inconvenient for my family. We declined the offer and were told they would contact the tenant and make sure the property would be ready for us (we were arriving in about 4 hours). After that phone call I was very nervous and on edge that the prior tenant was going to still be there and that the property wouldn't be clean or ready for us to enter. This did not make the next four hours easy. When we arrived at the property it was empty and clean. I was very grateful of that! My only suggestions would be to bring extra towels if you are going to use the pool. The hotel supplies towels that you can use there, but you cannot park in the hotel parking lot so you must walk from your rental. This wasn't a big deal, but a larger towel from home would have been nice. The place had everything else that was needed and any questions were answered right away by the property managers. I did recommend the property to some friends that are traveling to Colorado in the next few weeks.

Perfect commute to ski

A group of us stayed here to enjoy a weekend of skiing. The location made our commute to Copper and Loveland much faster and less stressful than driving from Denver each morning. The place was clean and even has a two car garage so if it snows you don’t have to worry about having to clean off your car. Georgetown has a few good places to eat if you go out or you can cook at the house. We did a mix of both. We were very happy with the accommodations and would stay here again. Thank you!
