Where to begin? We booked this hotel for a local getaway with a hot tub. We called ahead to make sure the pool was open. The front desk said the pool was open, but neglected to mention that the hot tub was not open. While using the pool, there was clearly something wrong in the pool room, as noted by the flashing white alarm lights, rust running down the walls, and the fact that it seemed to be literally raining into the pool. There was so much humidity that the provided pool towels were wet. After a somewhat disappointing swim, our party returned to the room to warm up in the shower, (as the shower in the pool area had no shower head). Upon returning to the room we realized that the shower was not running. We called the front desk to ask if there was a problem. They said they would send someone up. After about an hour of waiting, they told us that due to construction, the water would remain turned off until 3pm. I asked if we could be switched to another room. We then had to haul all of our stuff to a different room.
When I asked if there was any compensation available for the disappointing stay that we had, the snarky clerk said, "We granted you a late check out and that should be enough". He then asked, "Would money really make you feel better about your stay?", I said, "Yes." He replied, "Well, there you go. " implying that I was just looking for a free ride and there was nothing he could do. I remain dissatisfied.
