Worse than normal

It appeared clean, bed was a little more comfortable than previous stays. I requested a lower room (#20 or 21) orin that row but was placed in the other building and was not impressed. There were random small holes (like a light fixture has been moved) and it wasnt even patched or painted. Also, no coffee pot in room. Overall, probably my last stay at the Topaz.

Location is amazing, right next to the beach, but the hotel needs a lot of help. Our reservations took a long time to be found. One room was not cleaned, beer bottles and trash everywhere. One key did not work and even staff couldn’t get the room open. The room was so cluttered with antiques that you could not move. The AC was super loud and the tub didn’t drain. We do not recommend this.

Wasn't any breakfast mor on site laundry area as advertised. Room had holes in the wall, bathroom floor & tub was filthy, & I always check under mattresses because my fiancé & I got bed bugs the last time we stayed there, it had dead bugs, hairs, & dead skin under it. You could tell it hadn't been cleaned from underneath in a while. I don't think I will be staying here again. I thought we'd give it another try because of thr good rates & great location, but it's just so disappointing it's just not worth it. We normally don't leave a hotel til check out time, but, I was so disgusted with the filth we left early that morning.

We have stayed at this property several times over the last 6 years. The property is older so we expect it not to be perfect. The price is great the staff is very nice and helpful. The place is clean. The problem seen by most visitors is I would think are: the rooms need small TLC. We have stayed in many of the rooms and have found that each room could use certain repairs like new fixtures like lamps, stoves,paint, bathroom faucets, tubs or showers they are clean but appear dirty. Its nothing a little attention to detail couldn't fix. Regards to the cleaning staff. They need to move furniture and vacuum. underneath. Every room needs and ice bucket. More attention to pool towels. This being said my Grandkids and my husband and I really love this place and will continue to stay there as long as they keep the prices fair and listen to their patrands.

The Topaz Motel was total fraud and deception at its best! The pictures on the Expedia website ads are NOTHING like the horrific, deplorable condition of our kitchenette rental. We had chosen a kitchenette so we would be able to make coffee and simple meals as the motel was located directly across from the beach; our extremely tight budget did no allow us to eat all meals out. We arrived at approximately 8:30 pm the first day of check-in only to find that the "kitchenette" we had been promised was void of any type of dish, utensil, coffee maker-yet had a sign on the cabinet to be sure to wash your dishes and pots when you were done. This alone was fraud and deception-why advertise a fully functional kitchenette when absolutely nothing was provided. Never mind the condition of the room: The metal plate on the door was hanging off, not providing security to the outside. The water in the bathtub could not be shut off-was running at a pretty good rate, non-stop. Some of the moldings were off-exposing bare, rotted wood. Clean towels had disgusting, ugly brown stains on them. The air-conditioning would not adjust, would only run on high-it was freezing with no blanket on the bed. There were insect droppings on the stove and vent above it. The refrigerator had duct-tape on the inside holding together a shelf. The bedspread was heavily stained and the dust-ruffle ripped. There was filth in every corner, the walls dirty and chipped. The manager just shrugged his shoulders

Hotel is right in Flagler Beach so it’s a great area. I stayed in building B which is more of a motel for extended stays. Clean room but needed to be painted. Building A looked much cleaner around the outside. The pool was fantastic! Very clean and family friendly.

This may not be a 5 star hotel. , however it's convenient for us to visit our grandkids. The pool is nice. They could use a more detailed cleaning crew. You need to go thru each room and make a list of the small touches that needs to be updated. We have a great time anyway
