I made our reservation in October for a Feb stay. In October I called the Hotel directly to inquire about the Cruise parking. I was told to just arrive and the car would stay. That employee I spoke to explained the fees. Upon our arrival in the afternoon I was told for the FIRST time that they required me to call two weeks in advance of arrival to reserve parking. Despite explaining I did call in October and was not given that requirement the desk clerk was almost beligerant saying I was wrong because, "Everyone was trained to tell me about the requirement". She basically called me a liar. She said that despite the misunderstanding she could not accomodate one more car in the very large parking lot. I wish I took her name. The next morning I met a very professional young man working at the desk. I explained the problem and he immediately apologized for the mix up and said they had changed the policy and perhaps that was the cause of the mix up. He immediately gave me a parking pass. The first employee needs some training to deal with the public. The room was fine for an overnight. It was clean, bed comfortable. We could not experience the breakfast because it was so crowded. The breakfast room is very congested and better use of available space could be made. The Hotel is conveniently located for restaurants and very close to cruise pier. They seem to have several transports for Cruise pier but we didn't use it.

The room was dirty upon arrival. Our toilet wasn't working properly on two separate occasions and I had to adjust it each time. The carpets in the main hallways had a lot of bleach stains on them. Breakfast was acceptable, but there was not enough seating.

The hotel itself is a bit run down. I would give it a 6/10. The beds are not that comfortable and the overall dated look is a bit unfortunate. I don’t dismiss the fact that these rooms near a cruise port are abused and difficult to maintain, but i think it needs some tlc. However… the silver lining is the front desk staff. I stayed her twice in the past two weeks. 5 night and a 3 night. The front desk manager (don’t remember her name) was extremely nice and seems very genuine. But I do want to mention Yukari - she’s a total Gem who has such a great demeanor and even helped me with a bit of my Japanese. So, if you’re not going to put money into the space… drop some of that coin onto your staff. Take them out to a great restaurant and appreciate them. They are the front line and I’m sure the Hyatt next door would love to have both of them.
