Beautiful vacation property in Surry, Maine overlooking the ocean on Patten Bay with elevated views from a large deck. Enjoy your morning coffee watching seals, eagles, and deer along with natures other wonders on 4 private, wooded acres with 335' of ocean frontage. The house offers first floor living with two bedrooms downstairs, one with a queen bed and another with twin beds, on the first floor. There is a pak-n-play available for a child. On the first floor is a laundry center with a washer/dryer and a full bath. Upstairs is a sizable master suite with king sized bed with full bath and sitting area. Open concept living with lots of light. Fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar includes dishwasher and microwave and a separate dining room that seats 8.

There is a game room with a foosball table and card table along with games and puzzles in a finished basement room, creating another private area to work or play. All linens/towels, basic pantry items and starter paper products are supplied. Internet with Wi-Fi and HULU TV are available.

This property is conveniently located near the Village of Surry, and it is 15 miles from shopping and restaurants in Ellsworth or Blue Hill and 30 miles (about 45 minutes) from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Need a lobster? Perry's Lobster Shack is just a few miles down Newbury Neck where you will find Maine's treat fresh off the boat! Lovely Carrying Place Beach is also just a few miles away on the Union Bay with incredible views of Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain.

Loved it - only thing is the pictures looked like there was a walking path around the waters edge but it wasn’t- we did find some beautiful hikes in some nearby reserves. Would definitely recommend. Our ages ranged from 68 -75 for 4 of us. It would be great for a family because of the game room down stairs.

We had a wonderful stay at Coveside in Surry. The house was clean and well stocked with all we needed. The large dining table was a great place to eat meals as well as play games and work puzzles. Both the den and the deck were great places to gather and relax. There was a nice game room downstairs, but we didn't use it much because we stayed busy sightseeing in the area. The house is about 35-45 minutes from Acadia National Park and we visited the park several times while we were there. We also enjoyed the towns of Blue Hill and Ellsworth. We would definitely recommend staying at Coveside!

We had a great stay at Coveside and were happy with the accommodations and cleanliness of the property! The patio furniture was a bit dirty but easy to clean off and use. The path down to the water was also overgrown, but overall it was a great experience and would recommend.

Another great stay !!

This was our second time visiting Coveside and it is just as we remembered! The house and property are beautiful. The place was spotless when we checked in and everything is so comfortable and well laid out. We had fantastic weather and spent a lot of time on the deck admiring the view. Cheri is a great host and Coveside is definitely a keeper!

This home had everything we needed to make our family vacation great! Close to Bar Harbor and "touristy" shopping, close to wonderful hikes, but far enough away to enjoy some quiet time sitting on the deck with beautiful views! Lots of games; accessories for young children and toddlers; and the layout was perfect. Kitchen was well stocked. Highly recommend!

a wonderful stay

We had a very special stay in Surry. We have taken our summer vacation in Maine for more than a decade, and this property had some of the best features we have experienced. It is quiet and secluded. We found it to be very clean. The kitchen is well-stocked. The king bed in the master bedroom is a relative rarity and was the most comfortable one I have slept in. The location of the property is terrific - it is at the proximal end of Newbury Neck, such that the drive to Blue Hill or MDI is much shorter than when staying further down the Neck. The wifi was fast and reliable and the television was crisp and clear with many options. Even details such as the towels were fantastic. We aim to return!

Family of 6 adults stayed for a week. So comfortable, so easy. About a 45 minute ride to Acadia. Town of Ellsworth had any supplies we needed (or didn’t!). Our own private paradise. Book it!

Wonderful house in Surrey

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Surrey! The house was perfect for our family of 4: it had plenty of space, bedrooms, and bathrooms. The property was beautiful to hike around and just sit on the deck and look around. Several Osprey have nests and fly right in front of the water. We wished we could have stayed longer! One thing to note; there is no central air, but two of the bedrooms have window AC units. It probably isn’t an issue many times of the summer, but we happened to be there a week in the mid and upper 80’s. However, we loved the place so much, it didn’t affect our awesome visit! Highly recommend this property!

The BEST place to stay in Maine - literally at the hub of everything!

An amazing location and we will be staying here when we come back to Maine! I am a VRBO cleanliness freak and this place was so amazingly clean! It is so nicely decorated and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. My family (especially my son) loved the trail down to the water and the walks along the lower tide. A great and quite place to enjoy nature. We also were just 30 minutes from Acadia so getting into the park and enjoying more nature was so easy. We also were able to enjoy other parts of Maine because of the location. It is close to Ellsworth, so you can get anything you may have forgotten, but in a few minutes you are back in secluded comfort! Thanks again for a great stay and we will be back to explore more - we wish we could have been there longer.
