Stay was different than years prior.

We stayed here a few years ago and it was pleasant. It's never been the cleanest location but service was usually good and the convenience of being close to the beach/boardwalk is great for the price. It seems that management may be different from when we last stayed. Maintenence of the place seems to be less a priority and the cleanliness even less so than last time. Every surface in our room had cup rings, we found hair in the bathroom upon entry, and some small but noticeable things in the room were damaged cosmetically. The wait for check-in was also longer than usual. I'd love to see the place improve and flourish so I can give it a higher rating next time we stay.

Being a 100 year old hotel it was beautifully appointed with Chandeliers and some elegant touches. The staff were ok. We were going to use valet but no one ever came out so we used street parking which was cheaper anyway. They say they have coffee in the lobby in the mornings but it seriously was hidden down a hallway and to the left. The bar can get rowdy and loud so if you like that vibe it’s the place to be. I also found some of the floors in the cafe bar area sticky which I just can’t stand. I never saw anyone cleaning throughout our stay. So all in all it was just ok

Not great. Limited amenities as listed on website (desk clerk: Oh, we haven't had that since the pandemic). So, if you're not going to offer amenities anymore, you should stop advertising that you have them. Definitely not worth the price, even with the view.

Disappointed

Did not have many guests since it was the off-season and very cold. I was disappointed to not be offered an upgraded room due to the high vacancy rate and the fact that we have stayed there many times before. Also disappointed that the gift shop was not open at all during our stay. Parking is also EXTREMELY overpriced.

I was very impressed by the staff here especially someone at front desk named Josylin. Hope i spelled that correctly. The room i was in looked recently remodeled. Only downside was in the bathroom there was no space to put toiletries like toothpaste cologne etc for 2. Such a huge bathroom should have at least another shelf. But overall i still loved this place. So clean and quiet and so many restaurants within walking distance. 5 star hotel in my opinion.

I would stay here again for sure. Great staff, quiet and the room was nice. The negatives were minor, but: There were 2 lights in the entire room. No desk lamp, paper, pen, microwave or coffee machine. Still worth it. Nice, steady hot water. Everything was clean except the carpet was a bit unclean.
