Our stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Alexandria Old Town Area South was truly memorable. Despite two unexpected incidents, we left feeling grateful and pleased, largely thanks to the care and professionalism of the staff. The first issue was a power outage, and one of the staff members immediately offered to help us carry our baby stroller up to the third floor. He did so with a cheerful and helpful attitude, and it meant a lot to us. We sincerely wish him all the best in life — it’s rare to see such genuine kindness. The second incident was a fire alarm early in the morning that created some temporary confusion. However, the staff responded calmly and professionally, helping to ease the situation and keep guests reassured. Our only disappointment was the breakfast the next day — the omelet provided contained ham, which we don’t eat, and there were no alternative hot protein options besides potatoes and waffles. A bit more variety or labeling would have been appreciated. Despite that, it was a great experience overall, and we thank the team for their thoughtful service.

A storm came through before checking in and knocked the power out. We came back around 11:30 and still no power. They took my reservation number and name and are issuing a full refund. I called the hotel and was asked to be patient and to reach out to Expedia to help verify my claim.

I guess just my bad luck

The room overall was very clean. Check in was smooth and easy. The only issue i had wqs someone hit my windshield twice. When I went to the front desk to ask if they had footage I was told that I had to wait until the manager comes in at 10. I don’t live in the area and had to head out so I called the hotel at 10 to be told that the manager will not be in until 2. The front desk ends up calling the manager and called me back and told me I will have to wait until Monday after 9am to get footage because that’s when the service manager will be in. I did not like being told multiple different things and having to wait for someone to pull the camera. My car was the only car damaged at the hotel. Overall the hotel is very clean and from what I saw serve a good breakfast.

The hotel was safe and quiet. Staff was wonderful. Housekeeping was efficient. Breakfast provided a vast variety of selections. An area of improvement would be the bedding(mattress, pillows too flat) and lack of tissues in the bathroom.
