Between snorkeling with tons of turtles in the safe (esp for young kids!) and warm lagoon, and the on site Dolphin Quest, this is peak Hawaii! We stayed in the Tower which is cheaper, and is quite a hike from the parking (there’s a shuttle 8am-10pm - the tram seems to be permanently out of service?). The rooms are fine but nothing special - which, ya know what - is fine because we’re here for the lagoon and dolphin quest at a reasonable rate (for Hawaii). The only thing that could be better (aside from the tram working!) is that there could be a restaurant or all day cafe in the towers. There a morning cafe, but for lunch and dinner you need to hike half way across the property! (Did I mention please fix the tram?)

Due to the tram and boats being down the location was very hard to get around and see everything. The one morning we went to the only place open for bfast, it was a 45 min wait! It was quicker to drive into Kona and eat. Overall for the price and stay, it wasn't worth it!

Room smelled. Misleading listing. Showed pools I never saw, said there were 6 restaurants but they were in the entire Waikaloa Resort area, not the hotel itself. Staff didn't speak English and I couldn't understand them at checkin. Couldn't find the pool towels and couldn't find staff for help. Got charged $50 daily to park at hotel parking lot and then had to walk 1/3 of a mile to get to room or take a shuttle. None of this was indicated on listing. Had additional $100 "resort fee" I had to pay at check-in = for what service or benefit did I get for that? I already paid almost $500/night just for the room and you can't include parking or hesitate to charge me more fees upon arrival?

We were in a remodeled room. The room itself is nice. The toilet is a Toto bidet! The resort overall is overvalued. I’m not sure what the daily resort fee gets you, maybe the beach towel? All the beach toys are rented for a hefty fee in 30 minute increments. The food was fine, we had much better meals in Kona. The walk to Ocean Tower is absurdly long. The tram was shut down our entire stay after 2 trams collided so we had to walk with our luggage there and back. It’s over a half a mile. The resort is surrounded by vacant lava fields so it would have made sense to have Ocean Tower Parking nearby. Not sure why they didn’t plan that in advance. If I ever stay there again (highly unlikely) I would book a room in Makai so we could be right next to the parking ($48/day!!) and next to the lagoon, dolphins and luau. Lastly, the lagoon is cute and was nice for kids to learn to snorkel but there is no beach on this resort.

The newer rooms in the Ocean Tower are nice, and it’s a huge plus that they have a full kitchen and washer and dryer. However, the property is extremely dated and there is a huge lack of anything really to do. The pool bar closes at 5, there’s one super expensive restaurant on one far end of the property and another expensive restaurant with no water view that offers $50 pizzas that aren’t very good. If you have a rental car, you have to walk over 8,000 steps to get to the parking lot from Ocean Tower. There is a tram, but it moves slower than if you were walking, and it was inoperable during our stay because it crashed. They used to have boats that acted as transportation as well, but we were told those haven’t run in a very long time. There is a $40 daily resort fee which doesn’t get you any amenities at all, and then a $55 daily parking fee on top of that. All in all, you’re in Hawaii, and you’re just happy to be there. But, there are absolutely much better places to stay. Hilton needs to update this entire property to be in alignment with 2026 expectations. This property is sorta stuck in 1994.

객실의 바닥이 더럽고 화장실의 변기가 물이새어 세면대 바닥이 물이새어 체류하는동안 무척불편했다 또한 로비까지 왕복 셔틀버스로 다녀야했는데 아침7시에는 셔틀이 다니지않아 로비까지 걸어다닌것이 힘들었다.

I was really surprised by the overall service at the hotel. It felt like not all of the staff was trained on how to interact with customers. My colleagues and I both experienced multiple truly amazingly bad interactions with your staff. Honestly, these instances were so surreal that it's probably got me looking at the whole trip through an unwarranted lens, making other parts of my stay seem subpar when it probably was okay. It is not my intention to point fingers at someone, I'm not looking to get anyone fired over this which is why I am purposefully being a little vague. I don't usually respond to these follow up surveys, I truly feel I am being helpful to your business when I say customer service training for your staff, especially in food service areas would be most beneficial for the overall experience of future customers at your establishment.

The grounds were gorgeous with abundance of plants and statues. The entire property had countless museum quality items to view. Staff was very courteous. We got some parking credit bc we waited a little bit for our room inspection upon check-in. They also gave us mauna loa chocolate covered macadamia nut as a gift. Sunsets were amazing! Walks on the beach/rocks were fun.
