Pictures of apartment in listing are miss leading to the true condition. Apartment and furnishings are old, old maybe acceptable but old and dirty is not. Large wooden table had dirt in the cracks of the wood. Shower door enclosure frame rusted and dirty, bathroom floor wood lifting and stained, toilet seat partially broken and toilet permanently stained. Broken cabinet door, sink faucet dripping making sleeping in the vicinity difficult, balcony window lock not locking properly. We were told that we were responsible for removing garbage, but when questioned why when we are paying a 95 cleaning fee no answer was relayed.

Just ok

The upstairs bathroom doorway was very low - hobbit low. Also extremely low ceilings upstairs - be careful of hitting your head. Doesn’t capture in pictures. Floors were not that clean. Kitchen tap runs at a snails pace. Excellent location and communication.

Stairs!

We loved the location but were surprised by the 2 sets of very steep stairs we had to access to get to the apartment! We were traveling with my 82 year old mother and this was very difficult for her. Had I known in advance I would have selected a different property. In addition, there was very little toilet paper for our 4-night stay and the bathroom had many dead flies around the sink. The upstairs loft could only be used if you crouched down due to the low ceiling height. Check in was easy and the gentleman was very helpful.

Perfect apartment in the ghetto

The apartment is a perfect location in the heart of the ghetto in Rome. The managers are amazing...I left an item at the apartment and they quickly sent it to me back in America!! Very trustworthy and great.

Clean and good location

Everyone enjoyed their stay. the table football was a good entertainment for the kids. Not sure if the empty glass bottles add much to the decor? Happily stay there again.

Great room and perfect location

We ended our month long stay in Italy with a 3-night stay in this great unit in the Jewish Ghetto. The cafe and restaurants within minutes of the unit are excellent, and it is a short walk to the wonderful neighborhood of Trastevere. The foosball table was a bonus as our family enjoyed some epic games each night before bed. Great place!

Great location

We arrived a little early and they met us anyway and let us in. The extra fee for checking in on a Sunday seemed un called for. The food at the restaurants right next to the VRBO was very bland, but they did have some good wine. Overall it was a nice place to stay and would recommend. They also helped us get a driver for our airport departure. That was a big deal because taxis are very busy and hard to get one.

Convenient, Clean, and Walkable to Rome’s Tourist Spots

The place is well located on the edge of the Jewish Ghetto. It’s an easy walk to most tourists destinations. It’s also an easy walk to Piazza Campo d’Fiori and the happening neighborhood of Trastevere. A/C was a nice reprieve from the Roman heat. Beware of two flights of steps to access the apartment. Overall a good choice for our family of four. Two adults and two teenagers.

Good apartment in perfect location

We arrived earlier than the official check in time but only waited a short while in a local cafe to meet the host . He was extremely helpful in telling us all about the best areas to go, where to pick up taxis for the airport, etc. Be aware we had to pay an extra €112 in cash for the tourist tax, plus a balance on card which I was unaware of. The apartment itself is in a great location for easy walking to most of the main sights,, and we ended up walking around 10miles each of the 4 days we were there.Lots of cafes, restaurants, supermarkets nearby. The apartment was spacious, comfy beds and a great shower - but it could do with a little tlc - missing bulbs from some of the lights, door missing from the dishwasher, cups with broken handles, sofa covers could do with a wash etc.But overall we were happy with our stay, and would probably stay there again if we were to go back. My son loved the table football , and the uncovered fresco panels on the walls were cool, as was the painted wooden beamed ceiling. Also be aware there are 2 fairly steep flights of stairs to get into the apartment , one in the communal area to the 1st floor, the 2nd directly inside the apartment door, so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Great location

The apartment is in a great location. We were there for 3 nights and it was very hot in June. The AC worked great. Our teenage kids loved the fusball table. The beds were comfortable and there's a lot near the apartment from restaurants and stores. We would've like a coffee maker that worked faster and having some essentials like coffee, napkins or paper towels since it was a short stay. Most VRBOs we've rented in other countries have some basics. There was plenty of TP and bath towels and bedding. We did find a grocery store near the apartment.

Stay near Camp de Fiori

The property was great and the rental people were also fantastic. Check-in was easy and they were very helpful. The apartment was a bit dirty with some food pieces under the table and it could use some extra towels and linens but overall the stay was very good and I would consider stating there again. Great location!!

Super convenient location! We walked everywhere!

Loved the location which allowed us to walk to all the sites. Needed taxi only to airport. It really felt like we were living right in the heart of things, restaurants were just steps away on our street. Apartment is not on first floor as we Americans know it - it is really up a full flight of stairs and that is to THE DOOR of the apartment. Open the door and you still have to go up another flight. The bedroom is on that floor (and another step or two up to it) with a full bath on that floor. Then there is an open stairway up to the loft. When we booked this apartment the ad said it had a 2nd bath up there but upon arrival - no such bath. They have since changed the ad to correct it. But that was really why we booked it - I searched for a two bedrooms/ two baths (4 guests). So that was a bit of a bummer. The main bedroom was quiet. No problem. The guests who slept in the loft had a tough time with all the noise above. Realize you are way up close to the ceiling up there! The family (we assumed they live there) above made lots of noise and our guests could hear every step across the floor, every word spoken on the phone, their TV programs, everything. Even endured a kid dribbling a basketball inside late in the evening. So they did not sleep well. The apartment is nice, clean and basic, spacious enough to hang out in kitchen/dining/living areas. Not good for people who don't do well with stairs.

Over priced accommodation with poor service

Although this apartment was a perfect size to sleep 2 adults and 3 children it offered little luxuries for the price paid. The biggest issue was that even though you book through HomeAway, a real estate agent does the communicating for the owner and is not always available to take your calls and can take up to one week to get an email reply (if at all). Upon arrival about 3pm, the nominated agent asked us to call 30 mins prior to arrange meeting outside apartment. we did just that and nobody was there. I called again and someone else arrived to meet us. He was a very pleasant man and explained everything about the apartment but it wasn't cleaned from the previous occupants. We wanted to have a shower but couldn't do that as no fresh towels and any linen was there and the beds had used sheets on them. I understand the practice of taking security money in Italy as it cost 200 Euro but why only deal in cash? it could have easily been added onto credit card charge and refunded later. We had to wait around for agent to return with cash and it was inconvenient when on holidays. Overall, very average and can do better for price.

Great location/uneven apartment quality

The best thing about the apartment is its location. It's very central, walkable distance to many sites. The second best thing is that it's on the first floor, so no elevator is necessary. Also, the master bedroom is very spacious, charming and quiet enough if you keep the window closed. Don't look behind the shelves, there are empty toy boxes lying there. The sleeping area on the mezzanine has a very low ceiling with even lower buttresses, great for people who 5 ft 4 or less. If not, wear a foam hat not to hit your head... Both beds are very comfortable. Kitchen fridge bottom fell apart, the kitchen doorknob fell off, there were no dish cloths, no wine glasses. The air conditioning(very quiet) was not working correctly. Though someone did come to fix the problem, we were not told about it and would've liked to be there when he came. The living/dining area is functional. The agent who met us when we arrived was on time though did not seem very motivated or interested. I recommend the apartment for its location.

The appartment was bright and airy, wonderful cross breezes. Clean and tidy.

Four of stayed in the apartment and really enjoyed ourselves. We are all over 6 feet tall and found we had to stoop a bit in the loft area. The apartment was neat and clean and had wonderful breezes all day long. The early evening and mornings were a little noisy as sounds of the city bounced off the other buildings and into the living room. We found the apartment was close to everything and once we found our bearings had no trouble making our way around the city. We opted to fill the refrigerator and forgot to factor in the translations, cheese with biscuits sounds wonderful until you realize biscuits are chocolate chip cookies. And while we expect slices cheese or mozzarella, basket cheese is a little more difficult item to put out as a snack. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we all look forward to doing it again.
