Summary:
Built c.1840 by J. W. Babcock and later owned by the Hubbs family, Babcock-Hubbs House is one of Prince Edward County's early homesteads. The house has been updated with modern amenities while maintaining its century-old character. Original wide-plank floors, moldings, window casings, and doors allow you to experience a little bit of history during your stay. Enjoy all the County has to offer from the comfort and charm of our spacious, historical, and thoughtfully decorated property!

The Space:
Our house has four bedrooms, two baths (one with claw foot tub), a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and dishwasher, a spacious common room with smart TV and games cupboard, and a back deck with BBQ and incredible sunset views. Amenities include:

–Roku smart TV
–unlimited wireless internet
–propane BBQ, extra propane tanks in garage
–outdoor fire pit (BYO firewood)
–board games, KanJam, winter sleds for kids
–farm-themed children's toys
–14-cup coffeemaker with built-in filter (no paper filters needed!)
–coffee beans (regular + decaf), grinder, french press
–olive oil, vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper
–one highchair and one Pack-n-Play
–dishwasher, washer & dryer (including all detergent)

–cutlery, dishes, mugs, and glasses (drinking and wine) for eight people

Your stay with us includes a Summer Day Use Park Permit which enables two vehicles free daily access to Sandbanks and North Beach Provincial Parks from April to November.

We love dogs! Unfortunately allergies prevent us from allowing all breeds (or any cats), but your non-shedding, hypoallergenic dogs are welcome at Babcock-Hubbs House.

While we don’t have air conditioning, the house was built with triple brick walls and situated on a hill with large windows to ensure a cross-breeze. Ceiling fans on the main floor, and window and portable fans upstairs all keep Babcock-Hubbs House surprisingly cool in summer.

The Neighborhood:
Tucked away off the beaten path, yet located 20 minutes from North Beach, Closson Road wineries, Trenton, Belleville, and Wellington, and 30 minutes to Picton and Sandbanks, Babcock-Hubbs House is both tranquil and accessible. Our location allows you to experience farmhouse life in the County while being a drive away from the action!

We are only eight minutes from family-friendly Campbell's Orchard & Country Market where you can enjoy fresh apples, cider, ice cream, and baked goods, see the animals, stroll through the corn maze, take a wagon ride, or pet their sweet dog.

Similarly, we are 10 minutes from Roblin Lake with public beach access + the Ameliasburgh Heritage Village which provides a glimpse into 19th century life through a collection of historic buildings.

Getting Around:
You will definitely need a vehicle to get around the County. If you don't want to designate a driver in your group, download Uride (similar to Uber) or we recommend the Taxi Guy in Picton. Other cab and wine tour companies include:

La maison est splendide, propre, confortable et chaleureuse, en plus d'être joliment décorée. Située dans un endroit tranquille et agréable, nous avons pu profiter de magnifiques couchers de soleil et savourer la vue apaisante sur les champs derrière la maison. Nous étions 4 adultes et 4 adolescents, et chacun y a trouvé son bonheur. L’espace est bien pensé, chacun avait son intimité, tout en profitant de beaux moments partagés dans les pièces communes. Un grand merci aux hôtes pour leur accueil et la qualité de la maison. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !
