The hotel had a historic feeling. Parking was easy but expensive. Nice location. I didn't like the mirror wall behind the bed, the bathroom is extremely small the door kept hitting the toilet . and there's a real musty smell to the inside of the property. The lounge chairs are dirty and dingy looking

This hotel is changing ownership so it was not in top shape, paint was pealing, the hallway rug stained, a towel with a rip. The price and location were great, the bed was comfortable. The parking was an extra $45 a night, which was unfortunate and I don’t recall seeing prior to booking. Street parking isn’t possible due to parking laws in the neighborhood. The overnight staff wasn’t very warm and professional. The neighboring sister hotel offered free coffee and was so much nicer. Recommend Mosaic Hotel over this place. Had high hopes from the photos, but they were misleading.

The place was not maintained well at all. It’s in a great location and had cute room decor, but there was so much work needed. There is a terrible smell when you enter the hotel, the lobby desk paint is chipped and it felt sticky, the hall carpets are stained and bunched from age, the room carpet was shredded and torn at the bathroom entrance, the shower head could not spray all of the water since most was pouring out of the tub faucet because it was so old (like 50 years) - there was no coffee available in the hotel- I was told to go down the street to their sister property got the gym and coffee.

Please do not waste your money staying at this hotel. My husband and I checked in, went up to the room, and immediately came back down to check out. The hotel is extremely old and has a strong, unpleasant odor — it smelled like urine. The carpets were filthy, stained, and gave the room an overall dirty feel. When we asked for a refund, we were told it was not possible and they still charged my card for one night. Completely unacceptable. DO NOT stay at this hotel or Stay at your own Risk. The pictures on the website doesn’t depict the appearance nor the smell.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Madison 140 is nothing like what it advertises. First, there are endless hidden charges. After already paying for the room, we were hit with $45 per night for parking — and despite paying, we still received notices threatening that our car would be booted or towed. Completely unacceptable. The so-called “amenities” are a joke. To get water (which I needed for my heart medication) or even just a cup of coffee, you have to walk through a parking lot. That’s not hospitality, that’s neglect. The staff was unprofessional and downright rude. Any concerns were brushed off with an attitude. Cleanliness was subpar at best, and honestly, I’ve stayed in hostels in third-world countries that were more welcoming, cleaner, and better managed than this so-called “hotel.” Save yourself the stress and money — Madison 140 is a total disappointment.

My room was never cleaned during my stay. When I pointed this out to the staff I was assured that they would make sure it was cleaned the following day and it never happened. Therefore, I requested towels everyday which became a mountain of dirty towels and garbage. I notified the company and was given small refund for my inconvenience. I will not be returning back and would not recommend this hotel to others.

The hotel was not what we expected. We didn’t know about the up charge in parking and had to pay an extra up charge just to stay on the first floor. I would say the worst part was the service. We were greeted by an employee (African American female in her 50’s)who looked bothered when we were checking in. After my husband mentioned that parking was expensive (45 dollars a night) her response was “This is Beverly Hills.” She was rude the whole time. The only nice person we spoke to was the cleaning lady. If you are going to charge that much for parking and a cheap looking room at least have good costumer service. Anyways we will never be staying here again.
