Found in exclusive Kensington, just minutes from the high street and Kensington Gardens, this home scores highly on the quaintness factor with its private mews location. Once inside, the home has a coherent modern look that feels very calming due to lots of neutral tones. While it does have a small footprint, the thoughtful design has made the home feel bright and sophisticated. You’ll soon see why this home is called 'A Pocket Full of Pearls', it really is a little gem of a property. See notes!
The space
There’s something a little bit special about this 1 bed Kensington flat. Indeed, some might call the property quaint. Even the way you get in is unique, up two flights of outdoor stairs and along an outdoor passageway to your own front door. It’s all part of its charm.
And once you get inside, well, you’re in for a two-floored treat in a duplex apartment that’s about as sophisticated as you can get. But what did you expect, this is Kensington after all.
The lower floor is a picture of open plan opulence and elegance. At one end, the lounge, resplendent with a stylish sofa and twin armchairs, arranged around a flat screen television and modern mirrored fireplace.
At the opposite end, the kitchen and dining area. The former is home to an array of high specification appliances, cabinetry and countertops that will make preparing food a pleasure - assuming you need to, what with so many high class restaurants on your doorstep. And the adjacent dining space is what the word ‘snug’ was made for, corner seating with a table where you can both sit and enjoy each other’s company or whatever you’re eating.
At both ends of the space are broad windows, letting the natural light flood in, giving the room an alluring double aspect. Remember, this is central London you’re staying in, so there’s no getting away from the atmosphere this vibrant city generates, so expect to hear some street noise.
In between the lounge and kitchen, a small table and chairs for work or quiet reflection (there are plenty of mirrors in the property), a handy second WC, and then the stairs.
Up, up, up to the air conditioned bedroom and ensuite bathroom. That majestic super king bed is formed of ultra comfortable mattress and high class bedding, all presented in the executive style you’ve already experienced downstairs. And the adjacent bathroom features a walk-in shower, as part of a suite that’s as bright and white as the rest of this outstanding accommodation. Your hosts will also supply high quality toiletries and soft, fluffy towels for your use during your stay.
