This is a retro hotel, so I didn't expect perfection. The check-in process was onerous because the machines wouldn't process our registration correctly, so then we had to wait in a long line to get assistance.
My room (#22034) was spacious, but lots of small problems. No stopper in the sink, no soap dish; no coffee maker, no glasses for drinks (just 2 paper cups). No bottled water is provided. The safe didn't work, and neither did the bedside lamp.
When I called about these items, they offered to send a service person but wanted me to wait in the room for their arrival, with no timeline. I didn't want to waste a few hours, so declined. The carpeting needs to be replaced, and there was no comfortable chair. On the weekend, the wait for an elevator was easily 20 minutes. Only 2 of the 6 elevators seemed to be operable.
On the positive side, I enjoyed that the drapes and sheer curtains were on separate remote switches by the bed. The headboards have a kitschy look to them. The bed and pillows were adequate. The garden area of The Flamingo is a nice respite, in an area with no natural areas, even though the grass is artificial. We enjoyed the Havana restaurant for both dinner and breakfast, liked the food and found their pricing reasonable by Vegas standards.
Didn't go to the family pool, and the other one was not open.
