Book Motel 6 Gatlinburg accommodation from AU$98

The location was good and the room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and the refrigerator was good sized. The rippling river that runs just outside the terrace was very pleasant. The property needs some maintenance. Hot tub was broken, outside walkways to rooms desperately in need of new paint job and please replace the incredibly old and very chipped narrow bathtubs! Yuk! The doors to the terrace are strangely narrow, flimsy and don't fit the opening well. It would have been nice to have the abundant bird crap cleaned off the pool chairs. The breakfast was so-so. Some single serve half and half would have helped with the weak coffee but there was only French vanilla or powder creamer...2% doesn't count as coffee creamer.

The resort is beautiful, but staff is indifferent and nonchalant , many of the advertised amenities where closed for repair, and there were additional charges on my bill after I arrived which negated the discounted price on hotels.com.

I didn’t bring up the following shortfalls to the hotel staff at checkout because, a lot of times these type of things tend not to be addressed due to multiple reasons. Extremely loud and non efficient hvac unit. Room furniture very dusty and almost coming off its hinges (door that concealed the refrigerator). Balcony flooring could use some touch up paint. Housekeeping was asked to return in 15-20 minutes (at around 9:30) and never did all day. Called the front desk with no response to our request for cleaning or follow up. Next day still no housekeeping visit. Had to physically go down to the front desk and ask for it. $18 parking fee, which is a little much considering the size of the parking lot which is enormous. Should just have guest hang the parking permit on car mirror and that would let security know you’re a guest. Hotel is extremely quiet and far enough away from the main strip that it makes your stay easier. Staff is very friendly and helpful so the shortfalls were not that horrible.

Every time we go to the restaurant seems to be struggling with staffing issues

Very good free breakfast.

The breakfast was fresh and offered good variety. It was nice to have coffee and hot water for tea available into the evening.
