I stayed at Hotel Campsie recently and had a very disappointing experience. I travelled from different state to meet a friend and expected a relaxed stay, but the security made it stressful from the start. As soon as I arrived, the security guard stopped me and said I wasn’t allowed inside without even asking why I was there. I explained I had a booking, and only then he let me in, but without any apology.
While I was checking in and had already given my ID to the staff, the same guard came again and told me to leave the area and go upstairs, without asking why I was waiting. His attitude was rude and disrespectful, which made me feel very unwelcome.
Later, I asked the hotel staff if I could have a few drinks at the bar with my friend and was told it was fine. But when we went to the bar, the security guard blocked us again, refused service, and even threatened to call the police for no clear reason. It felt aggressive and unnecessary.
Also, the hallway near the rooms had a strong smell of cigarettes and was quite unpleasant.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was far from acceptable. I hope management seriously looks into the behaviour of their staff and security and improves how they treat paying guests.
