The overall stay was good. However my one and only complaint was about the response time on issues.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights. On our first night I noticed that the toilet wasn’t quite flushing correctly but I didn’t think anything of it. When I woke up the next morning and went to use the restroom, after trying to flush the toilet over flowed all over the bathroom floor.
As soon as this took place I called the front desk to make them aware and to send a maintenance person to fix the problem. The lady on the phone was very nice and apologetic about the situation and assured us someone was on the way to fix the toilet.
40 minutes goes by and no one came. I grew impatient and went to the front desk directly to see if anyone was coming to fix our toilet. The gentleman at the front desk seemed very confused when I told him about my issue. As I told him I’ve had to come use the lobby bathroom a couple times because our toilet wasn’t working he very quickly found someone to come upstairs with me and fix the issue.
I appreciate them coming to resolve my issue, I really would have loved some sort of compensation and urgency towards this issue. The confusion on the gentleman’s face at the front desk made me feel like my issue wasn’t a priority to the hotel.
Other than this small hiccup, we had a great stay. It was close to a grocery store for snacks and a short drive to downtown Ottawa.
