Motel charging hotel prices

great location — but that’s where it stops. Both of our rooms were extremely dated. The furniture was stained, peeling, or missing parts. The walls and carpets were dirty, and one of the rooms had water stains and peeling paint on the ceiling. It looked like no maintenance had been done in over a decade. The beds were very uncomfortable — one of them was just two twin beds pushed together, causing a dip in the middle that made it hard to sleep. On our last day, the AC stopped working properly. When we checked the unit, we found the vents covered in black mold. I brought it up to the front desk and was told they would “have it cleaned” — as if that would fix the larger problem. If you stay here, just be prepared for a very worn, dirty room. Run away

The Jewel Hotel is indeed a jewel in the middle of NYC. The staff, especially Erick at Reception are amazing. The rooms are spotless and beds extremely comfortable. 10 out of 10

Convenient location

The location of the hotel is unbeatable. In addition to the restaurants and shopping nearby, Times Square is a stone’s throw away and Lincoln Center is an easy walk. The subway and buses are within a block. The hotel staff is friendly and efficient.

Really good choice in midtown.

I often find New York hotels to be a little run down or dingy. Not so with the Jewel. A very clean, comfortable, and well-positioned hotel right next to Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall. A really good choice in midtown.

I've travelled quite a bit, and this is now one of my favorite properties. From the staff, being warm, welcoming, and accommodating, to the actual building amenities, this was a TOP TIER experience. The bed was probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in, and the room came with an abundance of towels.
