Clean room, great breakfast

Excellent front desk staff. Their recommendation for dining was spot on. Vicky the breakfast room staff was friendly and helpful with a smile and "Good Morning" for all. The motel entrance sign needs to be much larger as I missed the turn in a couple of times despite using GPS. Breakfast was excellent with numerous choices. I would definitely stay here again. The room was neat and well cleaned.

Overall, the hotel was okay for what we needed. The location was convenient for visiting the Everglades, which was a big plus. The beds were comfortable, and despite the air conditioning being pretty weak, it did keep the room comfortable enough — it just seemed to run constantly. There were a few downsides. The room had a noticeable moldy smell, and the shower curtain wasn’t installed correctly, so water ended up all over the bathroom floor after showering. Housekeeping never came during our 4-night stay, which was disappointing. Also worth noting there’s no actual breakfast, just a small grab-and-go option. About halfway through our stay, Everglades fires started directly across the street from the hotel. Obviously that is not the hotel’s fault, but the smoke and smell were intense and came right into the room through the air conditioning. What was frustrating was the complete lack of communication about it. Even just a quick acknowledgment or update from staff would have gone a long way. Not terrible for a short stay if you’re mainly using it as a base for exploring, but definitely could use some improvements.
