The hotel staff were kind and helpful. Our room was large and it had one full bath and one half bath. We had a wonderful view. The hotel is gorgeous and it the perfect spot to visit all the highlights of Ottawa.
The rooms are very disappointing. The TV was probably 15 years old and completely unusable because it was so pixelated. The decor is frankly deplorable. The blinds let in so much light and the curtains aren’t actually functional. The walls are PAPER thin. You will absolutely we woken up by the périple in the room beside you or house keeping. So sad to see what is supposed to be the nicest hotel in Ottawa is such an unglamorous state. I’ve genuinely stayed in nicer 3 star rated hotels. Exceptionally disappointed.
Doorman did not add vehicle to text valet, so had to call. Room 501 extremely small. Room service mid. Was sat in restaurant and waited 10 minutes, no staff attended so we left. Could hear people in adjacent rooms as if they were in the same room. Have stayed in many fairmont properties before, by far the worst. Not likely to attend again.

The staff were amazing. The hotel is beautiful but our room on floor 1 (3rd floor of hotel) was quite drafty by the window and the draft howled.

My wife and I always wanted to go to this hotel because of its great and interesting history! It was so fun to stay at. Only two major concerns - First very disappointed that the "causal dining" area was closed. Only the one fine dining area, which was all booked up. It would be nice to have that restaurant back - as we have been there before. Second, checkout area and parking crowded - maybe open up side of building as well for check out times. Bell staff, and staff in general very pleasant.

Friendly staff, nice decor and building. 211 was a big room.
A mix of old world charm and classic updates. Staff exceptionally friendly. We received an upgrade when we arrived. The room was very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfy. We had high tea at Zoe’s in the hotel. Our waiter Garrick was attentive and very friendly, the food was awesome. We would highly recommend the stay.
Towels were great. Staff was excellent. Excellent bar and drinks. Location was excellent. Excellent rooms. Parking (including valet) was not available. We had to park off site with no consideration or fore-warning. This unexpected 10 minute walk each way was awful due to the poor sidewalks and cold weather.
The room was lovely, but we will not stay here again. We waited an hour and a half for the valet to bring us our car and we had a 4 hour drive ahead of us. They delayed are whole day and it was so unnecessary. They were so unorganized. For such a nice hotel, they should have a much more efficient system. Will not be back to this hotel.
Beautiful room and building. Friendly staff; but the breakfast was cold and undercooked. For a first time staying here, I was underwhelmed as the the reputation had my expectations higher.
The hotel building is stunning .
Staff are absolutely wonderful but manager was difficult to deal with.
Perfect walkable location.
Room amenities were ok not but not as nice as Fairmont Banff. The gold room curtains were not aesthetically pleasing. Standard rooms were on par with Gold.
Very slow and ultimately faulty check-in due to broken IT system.
I had booked for 5 nights in a standard room through Expedia. During checks in , I asked if a gold room was available for a paid upgrade. I was told a gold room was available for 3 nights only but they had some IT issues after a long wait they said it was available for all 5 nights and asked me to go to Gold desk to check in - which I did. However , on the 3rd day I had many calls when I was in a conference asking why I had not checked out and ultimately that they had sent a staff to pack my belongings and keep them at the concierge which was quite shocking .
I had to go back to original room to make sure nothing had been left behind and go through my staff to make sure nothing was lost . I had planned to do some site seeing which I had to cancel due to this matter.
I found dealing with David difficult as he kept asking the name and appearance of staff who did the check-in. All other staff were absolutely wonderful.
I personally believe the issue arose from their broken IT system rather than staff.
