Quick and easy check in, parking easy. Rooms are compact but well equipped though look a little tired, especially in the tiny bathroom.

Everything was fine. Not many shops nearby but that didn't matter as I didn't need any! Staff were all lovely, no issues there. Room was functional, clean & everything needed was there. Only issue I had was the TV messed around when I tried to cast my phone, but that may have been my fault.

Good location and quite on the hill!

The stay was great! Great breakfast. My wife is Vegan and had no problem finding a good variety of food to eat ! The hotel is on the 31 bus line direct to downtown and the royal Mile.

Old hotel, a Holiday Inn without breakfast

The room was clean and housekeeping provided daily without asking. The building is old and smelly, the only nice area is the restaurant and breakfast area. Breakfast is NOT included, a first for me at a Holiday Inn. The room was located practically in the basement and the parking is really hard to move in and out. I would avoid this hotel if I go back to Edinburgh.

The hotel had some good points, staff were helpful when we asked for assistance carrying our bags up the stairs to reception, and extra coffee was provided when requested. The overall setting was pleasant. Negatives : However, our stay was let down by the lack of heating. The room was extremely cold, and the heater didn’t work. On the first night, I woke up at 3am freezing and had to wear jackets to bed. The second night, i called reception to check if it was centralized and controlled by reception. I was told there should be another panel heater, but there wasn’t one. I tried calling reception four times afterwards, but no one answered. It’s a shame, because with better heating and more attentive reception service, this could have been a much more enjoyable stay.

Room was clean but sloghtly dusty on the end tables and the table and desk. The bed was a little to soft and molded in the wrong places for my mother and i whe are on the taller side. But all the main areas were very clean and service was great.
