The location in the Grassmarket is very good because there are many restaurants, pubs, shopping and Edinburgh Castle close by. However, the steep and cobbled streets and many stairs of Edinburgh are quite challenging and more for those with no mobility issues. But that is the whole city it seems. Edinburgh is not handicap friendly. The hotel has no frills and makes no attempt at it, a 3-star business property. I had the king room with Castle view room. No bellhop to help with luggage. Size of the room is small. Gets a bit noisy being in the Grassmarket but quiets down at night. The front desk staff were all efficient. The breakfast restaurant is very good and the wait staff are excellent. Plenty of breakfast selections. Hotel prices are expensive all over Edinburgh. My overall stay is OK, the long and short of it.

Unbeatable location!

Beds were very comfortable. Hotel was clean and quiet at night. Friendly staff. The location is unbeatable, if you want to stay where all the action is. Every attraction is within walking distance, with a plethora of cafes, and restaurants right at your doorstep.

Great hotel, perfect location

Great stay at this hotel. The location can’t be beat with the Edinburgh Castle right outside the windows in the front of the building, and the Grassmarket right outside. The hotel staff were lovely and answered all our questions. The room was comfortable and we very much appreciated the fan as there was no air conditioning (probably not normally needed but it was a very sunny day when we were there and the room got a bit toasty!)
