I originally booked an ocean view room with two queen beds room (506). The moment we got to the lobby and received our room key cards, we were told we had to walk thru the parking garage and follow the arrows to another building to get to our room. Which was very strange to not stay in the same building as the hotel you booked. After following instructions and getting to our room, the room was nicely prepared. Once I got to the balcony to enjoy the ocean view, I was shocked. On the ground level, they had yellow barricades all around and it was very loud as they were doing construction! I am here on vacation to relax, not listen to workers working construction! I immediately went to the lobby and requested a room change. My request was granted and I was given a pool side view instead of the ocean view. Which I didn’t really mind, but I felt I should have been refunded something as the ocean view room is more expensive than the pool side view. Our room was changed to room (913). The room looked great, everything was fine in the room. But there was a bottom piece railing missing! Which wasn’t ideal as I had my two year old toddler with us and he’s very active. He could squeeze in thru the missing railing. So my wife and I were terrified and made sure to keep our eyes on him at all times. At this point we didn’t even bother going to complain. But we would never stay at the Edge again!

Anniversary weekend

Excellent room with view of the gulf. The shower was nice although more towels would have been better, but not a huge issue. Breakfast was pastries, fruit, cereal, etc. We were offered 10% discount on breakfast next door at Jimmy's, which was very good. We had easy access from the parking garage to our room and the staff was friendly. They let us use the pool and gave us towels while we waited for our room. We would definitely stay here again.

6th floor or higher

First room we were placed in was terrible. 505. It felt like a basement and that someone partied really hard there... Stains, cigarette burns, locks that don't work and overall really banged up. They moved us to the 7th floor. MUCH BETTER! With that being said 6th floor or higher at this place. Clean, good views, accommodating. Pools were good and location was great. Lots of restaurants and beaches walkable. Bars and rooftop restaurant were also very good.

Overall, staying at Edge Hotel was a good experience. Just a few things to be mindful of when considering this as an option for your stay in Clearwater- The breakfast is minimal; a few cereal options, yogurt, bagels and english muffins. There is no hot option and as someone who absolutely loves (and relies on) hotel breakfasts, this was a disappointment. A few elevators were down during our stay and the majority of the time, waiting for an available elevator took >5 minutes. Lastly, the pool area has no real shaded areas available- no umbrellas or cabanas. The pool is also open to the public. This was never an issue during our stay as there always seemed to be enough room and people were quiet and respectful, but something to keep in mind. Overall I think Edge is a great place to stay.

My family and I stayed here mid April and had an amazing time! Only about a five minute walk to the beach, ten to fifteen walk to the pier (that’s where we walked to rent the cabanas as it was closer to food and drinks). The edge was a perfect getaway and was in a beautiful spot that had a quiet tucked away feel from all the noisiness on the main beach. The pool was a dream, with amazing views. A few elevators were down, but that was because of the hurricane damage. We will definitely be back again!
