Not one I would recommend

I had been travelling all day with my friend. We booked this place as it was handy the motorway. On arrival I saw it was not the room I received a confirmation on plus it was dirty and the non smoking room I booked reeked of stale smoke. Also, the tub had mould around it. I called the owner and requested the room we booked or at least something clean enough to sleep in. He had nothing and I said I couldn’t stay in the room as we booked a double, non smoking. He said he had no other rooms. The bigger problem is that I was charged when I specifically booked the option to pay when booking out. Plus I was charged for a damage deposit without knowing anything about this as it did not state that anywhere on Motel Express’ website. The surrounding area wasn’t safe. The donut shop basically in the car park of the motel had a gang of boys hanging out and were up to no good so didn’t feel our car would be safe there. It’s not a place Hotels.com should have as one of their listings. I am still awaiting the money Motel Express took out of my account without authorization. I’m very disappointed as I feel Hotels.com should be trying to help with this situation as when one books on their site and leave their credit card number only for confirmation and the establishment goes ahead and uses it without authorization I don’t think I should have to deal with this on my own. I have used Hotels.com for all my bookings but perhaps it’s time for a rethink.

The motel was conveniently located off the highway. It was fairly clean. The bed was ok. It was great to have a fridge and coffee maker in the room. But the window air conditioner was extremely noisy. The room was dingy and dark. The pillows were terrible and the towels were threadbare. A 2star at best, but still $200 a night!

Roof overhead and a bed to sleep in.

This place is exactly as described in the reviews… small room, quickly renovated with fresh paint. But it was an affordable option that met our needs on a long road trip. Checked in at 10 pm left at 8am. Noise (voices) did come through the bathroom fan and from the parking lot.

When we got there their where wasp in bedroom notice where put air conditioning in bedroom there was opening in window so wasp could get in in fact any type of bugs could get in. Contact owner he came with tape to patch no excuse didn't say he was sorry he should take the time to do things properly so his motel doesn't look run down.

This is a cheap motel in a gas station parking lot, next to a busy highway. It served its purpose as somewhere to stop for the night and that’s about it. Was over priced for what you got. Lesson learned here.

We stayed one night at our trip start point on the way from Toronto towards Nova Scotia. A room was clean with good parking with easy access to gas station, tim horton, & convenience store within 2 min walking zone. But no receptiom desk would make you feel uncomfortable. Before checking in, you should be prepared & communicate with motel or expedia for motel via email or text to get the room info with acceas code. Other than that it was a very convenient and comfortable motel for us as bypasser!

Run down. Smells smokey. No one onsite. Received a text with door code. There is a Keurig coffee machine and only 2 pods, one medium roast and one dark roast. We both like medium! Thank goodness there is a Tim Hortons and a gas station with a convenience store right next door. We don't recommend this property and will travel a little further and pay a little more next time.
