We just came back from 6 days stay at the Royalton Punta Cana. We really liked the several pools, drinks, and overall ambiance of this resort. We paid for Diamond Club which I highly recommend. Our butler was Daniel. He was excellent with all our requests. If we needed anything in our room and restaurants reservations were done in a breeze. I would highly recommend his professional, respectful and calm demeanor. We visited the Gym several times and had no issues. The buffet had a wide variety of food and we all liked their food. We did not get sick and the kids enjoyed the water park. My son loved the Pinas Coladas from the pool bar. I would stay next time at the Punta Cana section instead of the Splash section which needs to be renovated and the staff was not as pleasant as the Punta Cana section. Overall we will go back to the Royalton Punta Cana for our next family vacation.

Food was ok. Rooms were amazing. Butlers were great. Drinks were watery. Internet was good. Everything was good walking distance for the most part. Transport available if needed. Fun all white party. Music by the pool was good. Unfortunately not a good rating because MOST of the staff apart from the butlers, and guest services, were extremely dismissive unless if you offered them a tip or if you spoke their language which I do. They would barely acknowledge you at the pool bar and take a while to attend. And in the restaurants some were dismissive as though to make it known that they force to deal with you, not that they want to. But the staff in the entrance, the butlers and those attending to the poolside/beachside cabanas were amazing.

We just returned from our 12 day stay at Royalton Splash and we totally enjoyed every moment!! From our first day, we felt welcomed by the staff until our last, we felt like family. A huge thank you to the animation staff to the swim up pool bartender's, who took a shine to our bored 14 yr old, and made his day, just by watching Willy and CO. We loved the water park as well. We are not Diamond club members, but it did not stop our enjoyment. We ate at all the restaurants but the Japanese and the Steak house. My only advice is download the Royalton app, and book your reservations at 5pm for the next day. The only negative is our building concierge was a little pushy trying to get us anything by hiding it was in fact a time share meeting.

In the service area at the buffet, they didn't have the right staff to provide the best service. Additionally, the buffet variety wasn't very good, nor was the desserts. When it came to serving dessert, they didn't have spoons to eat it, and you had to use forks or the soup spoons. Reservations for restaurants through the app were problematic because the app only opened at 5:00 p.m., and even if you managed to get a reservation, the time I was able to choose was 9:00 p.m. because it always said they were full. The pool area wasn't properly maintained, and they didn't use the correct chemicals for cleaning. The water was always cloudy and contained fruit residue from the drinks people drank. The trolli system for getting around the resort was extremely poor, with long wait times.

This was my second time staying here. First time was 8 years ago and it was great. This time we found the hotel quite disorganized, with poor service in general -with a couple of exceptions, of course. The reservation of restaurants is almost impossible, it seems like they make it so difficult so they can sell you the ‘upgraded’ restaurants (steakhouse and other) or to become a Diamond Club which is totally a scam. You will find also some members of the staff basically asking for a bribe to ‘help’ you with reservations. We were very disappointed with that. Sargassum was all over Punta Cana but the hotel did a good job keeping it as clean as possible. The beach bar by the Jade had terrible service except one guy that was ok (make sure to bring a tip or you will get nothing). In general you can tell there is a management problem and also not good conditions for the staff of the hotel (it’s inhuman not to have ceiling fans in the lobby, restaurants, and other areas where the heat is unbearable for the staff. Also the uniforms should be more suit for the heat- i.e., no long sleeves or leggings). Hope they improve service because they do have a nice infrastructure.
