Check-in initially went smoothly, and the front desk staff at arrival were pleasant. Unfortunately, what happened later completely ruined our comfort experience.
The hotel clearly sold more parking spots than were available. We were told we had in-and-out parking privileges, but when we returned from dinner that evening, there were no parking spots left at all.
We went to the front desk for assistance and were instructed by a staff member to park beside a snowbank — in a location that was blocking other vehicles in. We were uncomfortable doing so, but followed the directions we were given.
As we were walking back to the lobby, another employee named Carol began yelling at us for parking there. We calmly tried to explain that we had been told by staff to park in that exact spot, but she did not listen and instead sped off before we could finish speaking. She left in a red Toyota Corolla that has a noticeable exhaust leak.
Being given conflicting instructions and then publicly yelled at for following staff directions is unacceptable. Overselling parking and failing to communicate internally reflects poor management and lack of professionalism.
While check-in was good, this incident completely undermined what should have been a comfortable stay. We left feeling stressed, embarrassed, and disrespected. I would not recommend staying here unless parking is better managed and staff are properly trained in communication and accountability.
