Not what it looks like

Hotel looks nice on the outside but not the same on the inside. Carpet is dirty, out dated bed lines, faucet in shower was coming out of the wall and no toiletries.

The check-in staff member was pleasant and friendly. The property is clean and inviting and is close by shopping places and restaurants. The convenient parking area is too small. I hate parking across the street.

My Go To

My daughter goes to NSU and this is my go to hotel when I visit. The staff is very nice and it is only a few minutes from campus and steps away from Front St. I will be back in the fall!!

Absolutely terrible! Parking was confusing, when we called the front desk they couldn't help us.We didn't find out about the military discount until after we paid for our room. When asked if we could get a partial refund we were told no because we already paid for our room. Then we get to the room. The toilet paper hadnt been refilled. The shower was filthy and had no shower curtain. When we went to take a shower the water went straight onto the floor, microwave was broken, there were holes in the pillow covers. The "historic view" was that of the convention center. Breakfast was was awful and ending up making us sick. Will not be returning!

We have been coming to Chateau St. Denis for many years. We had started to see it going downhill a bit until this stay. The entire property is noticebly clean and well kept. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Corners are definitely being cut. Housekeeping wouldn’t supply a trashcan for the bedroom area. Cleaning also started during breakfast and continued until the evening, with trashbags and random trash, like used q-tips and fast food papers left on the hallway carpets all day and night. Hotel breakfast and bar servers were pleasant but food ran out and was not replaced proactively. This did not seem the fault of the server, who was working to please and seemed to be doing work that should have been covered by 2-3 workers. Front desk staff was gossiping to one another or on phones at least half the time we walked through the lobby. Have enjoyed past stays, the quality was noticeably lower this stay.

Hoped for a better experience

We think this hotel is charming, and were looking forward to staying here. The first desk clerk I approached sent me to the other desk as it was close to end of her shift. At 4 pm check in time, guests were lined up for the only other clerk who seemed overwhelmed. We didn’t get assigned the king room with chair that we specifically reserved for my aunt who is elderly and sleeps in a chair to breathe. She was so tired after travel that she didn’t want to call desk and insist on another room. The garbage at the front drive was spilling over, and trash was in the parking lot. We enjoyed talking in the elevators with other customers, however the front desk wasn’t very helpful. Coffe for breakfast was good, eggs were excellent. Sausages weren’t warm. Overall service was disappointing.

Nice hotel, disappointed in service

Reserved a king room with a chair for this reservation, since my 84year old aunt sleeps in a recliner due to her breathing issues. Desk first said no king rooms were available, and after some research then gave us a key to what they said was a king room. It was queen room/no chair. My aunt was exhausted so we didn’t ask to change, however she was unable to rest. Bery disappointed after checking in. The hotel is nice, however garbage cans at front were overflowing and there was trash in parking lot. Breakfast had good coffee and great eggs, sausages weren’t hot. I selected pay at property so my aunt could use her own card, however before I arrived the hotel charged my card. Could have gone better.

We did not get the room we booked and there were no others. There was mold and mildew in the shower. The shower tray was dirty with past guest footprints. There were only 2 sets of towels and we were 3 adults. The provision for our 3rd adult was a roll away bed and we were provided a bottom sheet and a bedspread—nothing else. When we left our room and returned later in the day, our keys did not work and we had to get new keys programmed. There was one bright light—the bartender, Daisy! She was kind, funny, helpful and charming!! The other staff members we spoke to were also very kind and helpful!
