I had a pleasant stay at 1898. The location is great for experiencing the local nightlife, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The breakfast was decent, though I wish there were more traditional Filipino options. The egg station stood out as the best part of the morning meal. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The 24/7 security gave an added sense of safety, which I appreciated. Overall, a solid stay in a lively area.

Lovely quaint hotel with attention to details. We wanted a place in Makati that was not crowded and 1898 surpassed our expectations. Our family stayed for 3 nights. All of the staff were courteous and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Really nice lobby and hotel rooms appear to be very modern/upgraded recently. Very friendly staff. Note: this is in the redlight district, I was not familiar with the area and didn't see this in the reviews and only learned about it from a local. This didn't matter to us much, we basically stayed at the hotel or took a car to other locations. We did go to the Filling Station - American style deli, that was a fun experience with decent & decently priced food. Only negative - they only heat the jacuzzi when asked and even then it doesn't get to American standards of warm/hot.

Good area if you’re looking to party with free lance workers. A lot of clubs around. I didn’t do enough research and had kids I highly don’t recommend with kids. As an adult if that’s what you indulge in it’ll be perfect for you. Definitely not kid friendly area.
