Accommodations that aren't far from the CBD of Fuji include the Hotel Nishi In Fujisan and Kuretake Inn Fujisan.

The Arai Ryokan is 35 kilometres from the main part of Fuji. Another option is the Mars Garden Wood Gotemba, which is located 25 kilometres away. Some more places to stay in the Fuji area include the Hotel Mifuji and the Numazu Riverside Hotel.

If you have time left, be sure to see more of the Chubu region. Visit the ruins and castles in Chubu, or head off and enjoy its beaches and mountains. Visitors in this region of Japan often enjoy snowboarding and skiing.

It is well known that we Aussies are pretty chilled, so consider extending your stay and check out the Senbonhama Park and Awashima Marine Park, which you'll find in Numazu, 18 kilometres to the southeast of Fuji. The Hotel Miwa and Daiwa Roynet Hotel Numazu are a few of the great hotel options in Numazu. 60 kilometres to the south of Fuji is Shimoda, which is home to the Shimoda Tokyu Hotel and Shimoda Prince Hotel. The Shimoda Aquarium and Sotoura Beach are some of the most popular places to explore while in Shimoda.

Are you a crazy sports nut? Indulge in your passion by visiting Nissan Stadium, 90 kilometres to the northeast of Fuji. The Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers and the Associa Shin Yokohama are good options if you hope to get into it.

If you plan on flying into Fuji, Mt. Fuji - Shizuoka Airport is your best option. It is 65 kilometres from downtown Fuji. The Hotel Route-Inn Shimada Ekimae is nearby.

The room was very clean, but very small. We forwarded our carry on luggages and check in luggages to Kyoto from Tokyo (we were only in Fujikawaguchiko for 2 nights and just packed enough for 3 days/2 nights in our backpacks to hold us over). If we had our luggages, the room would've been way too small. At the end of the day, we were only at the hotel to shower and sleep and it was more than adequate. Slippers, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, towels, hair combs, and green tea/hojicha tea were provided. The staff was very friendly and the included breakfast was AMAZING. The curry and potato soup were so good and we loved the shine muscat grape jelly!! This hotel breakfast actually beat our ryokan breakfast. It's a close walk to the bus stop, but there wasn't much to walk to in the area except for a handful of restaurants and a Lawson.
