We rented a traditional Japanese room which also included two single western beds and a small onsen on the porch. Felt like we were hidden in the trees with the best options for sleeping. The design of the room was efficient and thoughtful. Two meals per day are included and the buffet selection includes many Japanese food items which were well prepared. Western dishes are available as well. Japanese gowns are provided for wearing around the hotel along with many slipper options. Overall this resort offers a unique experience for foreign travelers. I highly recommend staying here.
The hotel is right next to the ropeway station. That is very convenient for people who wants to use the ropeway. The only downside is that once the ropeway station closed at 5 pm, there is nothing to do nearby.
The property is very well maintained. Our room faced the lake. It is spacious and beautiful. We stayed two nights. The food at the buffet is excellent. If the food items in the buffet can be different for each night, that would be perfect. The services offered by the staff is top notch. Will stay with the hotel again
Great Experiance , relaxing and the food was out of this world .

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
The room was absolutely beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Food was amazing with many vegetarian options, all you can eat buffet style. The spa amenities were affordable and well organized.
A very nice upscale hotel next to Lake Ashi. The hotel is new and conveniently located for public transportation. Easy to get to the cable car, bus stop, and the famous pirate ship ferry accross the lake. We stayed for two nights and it was enjoyable and enough. The staff are very friendly. The hotel is spread over two interconnected buildings and we stayed in the middle one. The first, small building is for the common areas and the next long building is the guest rooms. The onsen is very nice, clean and equipped well. The restaurant is a buffet style, and sufficient. Hakone is not an area for tourists who are you used to all inclusives in sea side resorts. It is a wellness and nature area and you’re lucky to find a hotel providing this upper
Hotel room, onsen, and massage area very nice. Professional and friendly staff. Only thing to improve is the food — it was decent, but the options were the same each day, and there were very few vegetarian options (and they couldn’t custom make things).
Beautiful lobby with breath taking views of Lake Ashi, with modern amenities and plenty of Japanese touche. Free shuttle bus to Odarwa station and the fact Hakone ropeway and Pirate ship is only 5mins walk away. There’s coffee in the lobby and ice tea to settle in when you arrive. The onsen is great for those who dare to bath naked or you can opt for private onsen for a fee. Live the fact they had 2 electric massage chairs just outside the baths to wind down. Also you can book for massage at their onsite facility. Breakfast and dinner buffet was great - the only down side was it was repeated so could get a little boring if you stayed more than 2 nights. Overall, highly recommend this place. Came with my two kids who were under 10.
We loved the location and proximity to the ropeway and the pirate ship. The grounds were beautiful. Our room was very comfortable and I loved our outdoor tub with constant warm onsen waters in it. Loved the foot bath. Loved the kimonos and lounge wear they provided. Breakfast and dinner both had plenty of tasty choices.
What we feel they can improve on is communication. At checkin we were directed to a self serve kiosk. We did not get very clear check in information. Also, the staff spoke
very little English which made it difficult to buy a drink or get information about the hotel. But overall it was a peaceful and relaxing visit.
Un expérience incroyable! Nous avons adoré. Je recommande fortement. La bouffe est excellente pour un style buffet. Le Olsen est très bien. C’est situé près du tour de bateau et du lac. Un endroit parfait pour relaxer.
Beautiful scenery, super close- walking distance to ride a gondola to a major world renowned attraction (volcano).
Super baby and kid friendly; we got a balcony room facing the lake which allowed us to open the screened door to get fresh air.
The onsen was clean and in excellent condition; lots of quality amenities.
Buffets were generous and quality as well. They had an unlimited sake, whiskey, wine, beer bar plus all the juices, soft drinks, tea and coffee you want. The coffee was meh; worse than Keurig, but the Japanese teas were very fine.
There were so many food options it is a little overwhelming but I think it would be nice to have a guide to introduce people to how you would do a curated kaiseki meal by course; so folks can enjoy some of that experience.
The hotel is gorgeous and perfectly located near Togendai station. Accessible by public transport, it was easy to get to from Tokyo.
The rooms are perfectly suited for short stays but could be stretched for 3 or 4 days and still be super comfortable. Plenty of Instagram worthy photo opportunities, sensational breakfast and dinner.
Staff are constantly helpful and wonderful. My only issue was 2 nights wasn't enough to catch everything that Hakone and the surrounds had to offer.
Highly recommended.
