The property is very conveniently located just a short distance from the Royal Mile and centrally located for a miriad of activities. It's close to several transportation hubs, restaurants and pubs. I loved the spa facitilites and the massage I had there was top level. The food was above average in the dining room and the breakfast was fantastic with both a continental buffet as well as a menu to order from. I found the staff to be very helpful. Everything seemed new and fresh. Loved my stay here and would stay again. Highly recommend.

Very clean hotel in a great location right on Princess street with tons of dining options and walkable to old town, the royal mile, grass market and the castle. The free WiFi was terrible and would not even load a basic webpage.

Would absolutely Recommend the Apex Waterloo

During our recent trip, the Apex Waterloo Hotel in Edinburgh stood out as one of the best hotels we stayed in. While the room wasn't exactly as expected—we had anticipated a second single bed based on the photos but received a fold-out couch instead —it still didn’t disappoint in comfort or quality. Upon arrival, we had a minor issue with the room lock not working properly. The hotel staff were quick to address it, doing their best to repair the issue promptly and even offering us complimentary drinks at the bar while we waited. It was a thoughtful gesture that really set the tone for our stay. Every member of the staff we encountered was exceptional—kind, responsive, and truly made us feel welcome. As a family, we felt comfortable, well looked after, and genuinely valued. The bar and restaurant were both excellent. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the barista-made latte was a highlight. While service in the restaurant was a bit slow at times, the kindness and professionalism of the staff made up for it. The amenities were a pleasant surprise—quiet in-room air conditioning (a rare find in Scotland), daily bottled water in the fridge, and a nice selection of teas and coffees, & toiletries. The bed was very comfortable, contributing to a restful stay. The location is fantastic—close to everything you might need or want to explore in Edinburgh, yet tucked away enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. We would absolutely stay at the Apex Waterloo again!

Very courteous and friendly staff. Breakfast included a good variety of food. A couple of mornings when we had to leave before breakfast was served, we were given a bag of food, so we didn’t have to leave hungry. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this hotel.
