Holidays in Dutton Park

Done with dull meetings that drag on forever? What about that painfully awks water cooler chit-chat? Say buh-bye to work and get away to Dutton Park, a neighbourhood in the state capital, Brisbane. Brisbane is home to around 2,200,000 people. Make sure you meet a few of them! Dutton Park is 3 kilometres south of the centre of the city. If you're arriving from Brisbane Airport, flag down a taxi and head 15 kilometres to the southwest.

With plenty of the city's top sights close by, Dutton Park is a dream for sightseers. From Queen Street Mall to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, you won't run out of things to keep you amused. After taking a look at those, you're going to want to continue on to Roma Street Parkland and Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium. While you're here, consider visiting some other neighbourhoods to taste more of what Brisbane offers. Woolloongabba and Highgate Hill are good recommendations that are within close reach.

Looking to blow off some steam? Exciting options include the Treasury Casino, the Castlemaine Perkins Brewery and the XXXX Brewery.

The area's cultural attractions, such as the Gallery of Modern Art, the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, the Queensland Cultural Centre and the Southbank Parklands, can't be missed!

Local galleries like the Queensland Art Gallery, the Institute of Modern Art and the QUT Art Museum offer a glimpse into the creative side of the area. Why not check if there's an opening on and observe some of the remarkable works?

From hands‐on exhibits to awe-inspiring objects and artefacts, museums have something for visitors of all ages. If the weather turns nasty, why not head over to the Queensland Museum, the Queensland Museum and Sciencentre, the MacArthur Museum Brisbane and the Queensland Military Memorial Museum?

Seeing a first-rate performance can be an uplifting experience. Reserve a seat at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, the Twelfth Night Theatre, Tivoli and the Gardens Theatre for an unforgettable night out.

Is your golf swing too fast? Does your posture need some work? With top-notch greens like the Saint Lucia Golf Links, the Victoria Park Golf Complex and the Indooroopilly Golf Club to tee off at, improving your technique will be par for the course.

Locating kid-friendly places is an important task when embarking on a family holiday. Keep an eye open for the State Library of Queensland and the Brisbane Square Library.

As you know, kids can get restless on vacation. Fortunately, there are a handful of places in the local area where they can blow off some steam. The Wheel of Brisbane, the RNA Showgrounds and Frew Park are some popular choices.

Put your phone down, log off from the stresses of everyday life and discover the serenity of the outdoors at Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Mt. Coot-Tha, Mt Coot-Tha Lookout and Mount Gravatt Lookout.

To catch a glimpse of some local flora and fauna, head out to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens and the Mt Coot-Tha Gardens.

If the vigour of city life is becoming too much, head to one of the nearby local parks. New Farm Park, Tsuki-yama-chisen Japanese Garden, Centenary Place and Sherwood Arboretum are charming spots to kick off your shoes and relax under a tree.

A trip away is the ideal opportunity to go on a shopping spree and grab yourself a few gifts. Make sure you take a look at Emporium, The Markets, Chinatown Mall and Davies Park!

The nearby historic attractions will give you an illuminating glimpse into the area's fascinating past. Story Bridge, Tower Mill, QUT Old Government House and the ANZAC Square War Memorial have plenty of tales to tell.

St. Stephens Cathedral, St. John's Anglican Cathedral, St. Andrew's Uniting Church and Albert Street Uniting Church offer vacationers a chance to better understand the region's spiritual side.

Not many things are as exciting as watching a live sporting match. Why don't you catch the Brisbane Roar, the Brisbane Broncos or the Queensland Reds bid for glory at their home ground of Suncorp Stadium?

House keeping was very slow on Friday and missed our room for service. The beds are only double size not ideal for 2 persons on it in a twin room 3 elevators and only 2 were working over the Magic Round on the Saturday. Overall it’s not a bad hotel and a 10min walk to the Queen Street mall.
