The stay was perfect, the staff were great and I loved the hotel. But I can’t give more than 1 star as the hotel refused to reimburse us for a day when our airline cancelled our flight and we had to fly out a day late through no fault of our own. No flexibility whatsoever from such a huge hotel chain, very disappointing. This alone would make me not book with intercontinental in the future, they charge so much and rightfully so because they’re meant to be 5 stars but they take your money and then don’t really care. A little bit of humanity doesn’t cost anything, a cancelled flight is not the fault of the passengers but clearly we are asking for too much.

It took over an hour to book in, we had to chase multiple times every day to get the room refreshed with clean towels etc, and when the room was done up they left only 1 towel two days in a row (with no response when we asked for a second). The room service people didnt answer the phone then lectured us about calling multiple times. We never lodge complaints - but this time we came close.

Although the balcony and the view were great, there was a bad odor in the bathroom. This was unpleasant and certainly not acceptable for a 5 * hotel. They initially refresh the room but the bad smell came back. Location is great. Very good restaurant with a view.
