The stay at this hotel was very disappointing. From the outset it was not a good experience. The main reception area of the hotel is very nice and we were greeted by friendly staff. However, following the check-in, we were ushered along a maze of corridors and out of the back door of the hotel, we then had to cross a road and go into a completely separate building. The hotel referred to this as the ruby wing. This building has no amenities, all of the facilities are in the main hotel building therefore when you need to use the restaurant, the pool, or the bar you have to go out of the ruby wing cross the road go through the back door of the hotel. The corridors within the other building are accessed through a steel fire door which had push handles on one side. From the lift to the rooms it didn’t feel like a hotel. The room itself was clean however there are signs of wear and tear and I have never seen so much mastic on the joints in the bathroom which has been poorly applied. The room a balcony to the room however the door was permanently screwed shut and therefore the balcony could not be used. We reported an issue with the shower which was constantly cycling between freezing cold and burning hot. The hotel said that they would get the engineer to look at it, but nothing changed. This was a VIP access hotel so we asked for a better room in the main building but were informed they could not. I will definitely not be coming back to this hotel on my next trip to Bangkok.
