Overrated and Run-Down – Not Worth It!

Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse is definitely an old hotel that desperately needs a full renovation, especially in the rooms and by the pool. Its glory days are long gone, and calling it a 5-star hotel is a real joke. Let’s start from the beginning – the room is completely uninsulated; you can hear doors slamming in other rooms, the elevator, and even noises from neighboring rooms! The room itself looks terrible – peeling paint on the walls in a so-called 5-star hotel? At the pool, if you swim to the edge, you can see dirt floating in the water and broken pieces of lighting. The gym is dirty and poorly maintained. And the best part – breakfast. I was served coffee in a mug with a broken handle. A slight moment of inattention, and I could have burned myself! As for the "amazing" view from the top floor – there are plenty of other places in Bangkok with similar views. I absolutely do not recommend this place.

Fantastic

The concierge was very friendly and helpful, we felt very at ease and welcomed. Great location, there is a mini Big C in front of the hotel and walking distance to bus station. Safe and calm area. Cleanliness and overall look of the hotel was top notch, the view from 26th floor was amazing and they also have a shuttle bus system to a BTS station. Looking forward to come back next time!

Lovely hotel - Absolutely nothing to complain about. Lovely people and good food. Yao Skybar is nice for a drink at night. Location is Ok but then the cost of a Grab makes the location irrelevant.

Excellent value for money.

Excellent value for money. Can’t go wrong for cheap hotel lovely rooms. Nice and quiet. Great staff who can’t do enough for you. Breakfast was poor but cheap.
