The staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic. The room looked great ( king spa chalet room 229). The accommodation was extremely disappointing, the pungent aroma of mould from wet skirting boards was overwhelming. We spoke to the staff and were moved to a different room which was no where near what we had booked, double bed and small tv. We were told that this room (229)had only just been listed again after being closed due to the damage and obviously hadn’t been checked between. For the price we paid even more disappointing. The room we were put in has cobwebs throughout and moldy shower curtains and dripping taps. There wasn’t any dishwashing liquid which spoke with staff about, they got housekeeping to attend to this. Housekeeping didn’t know what a dishcloth was, after explaining what was needed further they asked to refill the container (there wasn’t one). The staff did offer some drinks to apologize. The two star rating is purely due to the amazing staff who shouldn’t be having to deal with so many complaints due to the poor and dangerous condition of the room, these staff are also being exposed to the mould any time they enter the room, airing it out will not fix it.

I understand the place is under renovations but the state of our room was not great, there was blood on my pillow that was visible through the pillowcase. The general state of the room was dank, dirty and unkempt, laminate peeling off all the furniture. Blanket was stained thankfully the aircon worked for heating.

We loved our stay at Handorf Old Mill. The plce is clean, very comfortable bed. Its quiet and staff are very friendly. Highly recommended!

If you are looking for a very basic room that is close to some YUMMY pub food, has exceptionally lovely Staff and is walking to the Main street for Hahndorf, then this Hotel is PERFECT! The room itself was extremely basic, but the bed was comfy, the amenities worked and there was a heater. What made this a place hubby and I will return to is its staff and its food. The staff are just amazingly lovely, they try to help out as much as they can, and they treat each other with respect! I was pleasantly surprised to hear them constantly and consistently thank each other, speak respectfully to each other and even compliment each other - sometimes in the same sentence. And the food was so yummy! Yes it is the basic Pub Food - but it was done well and the prices were right. This will definitely be a hotel that we will return to for our weekend escape to Hahndorf!

Good value

Hotel was in a good location in the heart of Hahndorf. I booked an upstairs room but was upgraded to the ground floor chalet. Room was spacious with lots of bench space. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was a decent size with a corner spa. Good lighting in the room. Lots of parking. Staff were great and no issues with check in which was later in the evening.

We were moved to this property last minute as apparently our other hotel was “closed”. Our loft room was freezing, the aircon sounded like a plane taking off and we had to request toilet paper as we were only given half a roll for a two night stay. There were some helpful staff but it wasn’t the elegant few nights away we had planned!

Safe and quiet. Easy carpark. Accommodation good. But spa bath was very old and very average. Dinner at the property rest6 was except.very tasty meal. Enjoyed our visit except h For when the power dropped out due to reservations going on.

We enjoyed our overnight stay. Central to the town sites, cafes and shopping precinct. We had a problem with our first room, tv & internet wasn’t functioning. We were immediately given another room. Excellent customer service by the duty manager. Meals were excellent in the dining room. Would definitely stay again.

Location was good.Room big and clean.Bathroom very dated. Badly in need of an up grade.Hot water was good. T V needed up grading.Too old to support current channel settings which was very disappointing
