Surprisingly there was no lockable safe within our room. The male change room associated with the swimming pool had small lockers for clothing/possessions, but required a padlock to make it secure! How many hotel guests carry a suitable padlock with them? Key, or code activated lockers would seem more appropriate.

The room was clean, fresh towels daily, nice size room. The hotel itself is a bit “worn” and could use a face lift with carpet, etc. The morning buffet was good. The only disappointing part was that our regular size truck couldn’t fit it into the parking garage because of the low hanging bars at the entrance. The parking garage that the hotel sent us to felt unsafe and was not well lit. We were forced to park on the street and got a $47 parking ticket. Other than parking, the hotel is central for Children’s Hospital and some shopping.

Had an awesome water view of Vancouver, which is not something I had expected or paid extra for. I was visiting there during off season (late January), but man, when I got to my room and looked out the window from the 23rd floor, it was amaaaaazing!! Unexpected, sometimes these unexpected upgrades just make your hotel stay remarkable!! Thank you. And the staff was very polite during check in, check out, and through the entire stay when I asked for a late check out time, since I was going to stay with my brother for the remainder of the week at the Cancer Center Residence in Vancouver just down the street and their check in time wasn't until 3pm. So, the staff at the Holiday Inn were gracious enough to give me a late checkout of 1pm without a charge. My stay was way better than I expected, and for that I am truly grateful.
