The entryway to the building is under construction (not sure if it’s a much needed ramp they are building or not). Hotel was clean, service good, however some amenities are lacking. Bar in lobby closes at 10pm even though there were MANY guests looking to enjoy a couple of adult beverages after the Blue Jays game. Perhaps this will change in future? There is a small fridge in the lobby with beer and wine for purchase, however not allowed to sell it after 11 pm. Our mini fridge in room was not cold but we got ice from up on the 7th floor. There is a convenience store across the street where alcoholic beverages can be purchased. That’s what we did. The rooms are clean, although quite small, and the bed very comfortable. There is no full length mirror which I found unfortunate. (I know…men don’t care lol). The soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner have an amazing smell. Not good however if you have scent allergies.
Our first morning, we were awoken at 0630 to the sound of voices and construction outside of our 2nd floor room. Could hear full conversations, whistling, banging and drilling.(the crew working the entranceway). When we went out that morning, I informed front desk that we were woken up by them at 0630. Were told that they weren’t supposed to start until 9 am. The next morning, it was nice and quiet.
The location is excellent. It is right around the corner from The Royal York Hotel, easy walk to Union Station, CN Tower, Rogers Centre etc
