We had a WONDERFUL visit at the Ritz Carlton in Toronto. From the moment we arrived until we left, we received exceptional service. Ani at the bar was simply amazing with his astute recommendations and sharing his personal favorites. John and Reg were welcoming and warm. Tan, the valet/driver was so personable and provided excellent dining suggestions. Manny, the concierge was also superb and provided us with a last minute dining reservation at Daphne's. Thank you! Housekeeping was very attentive to detail - even providing a magnatized "Ritz" bookmark for my book. The attention to detail was heart warmimg. Thanks to all the hospitality professionals at the Ritz for making us feel so welcome!

Can a hotel be too attentive? With a service priority they were trying their best but it became a bit of a nuisance in my room as someone was phoning and knocking often and interrupting. Next time I will just instruct I will reach out should I need anything and to not disturb ( privacy card on the door just had them call instead which defeats the purpose).

The location is convenient, but overall the experience was disappointing for a hotel of this reputation. Breakfast was mediocre—more in line with a 3- or 4-star property rather than a Ritz-Carlton. The doormen were unhelpful and didn’t offer any assistance with luggage. At check-in, the staff were similarly unaccommodating. I asked the receptionist to look into why my room key card wasn’t working. Despite confirming all of my personal details (name, phone number, etc.), she refused to reactivate the card and instead sent someone with me to verify my identity via my passport—something that could have been handled far more efficiently. For such a well-known luxury brand, the service and attention to detail were well below expectations. I won’t be returning.
