I recently stayed at the Pembroke Inn and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. My room was located in the basement, which was only accessible by a narrow and somewhat unsafe stairway. My room had a small window which allowed 0 light and had trash exposed from the outside. The hallways throughout the lower level had exposed wiring and cords, which raised serious safety concerns. While the room itself had a modern design, it was clearly worn down and poorly maintained. The bathroom’s ventilation was not working, causing condensation to build up on the ceiling and drip onto the floor—making it wet and slippery. This also caused anything in the bathroom to become soaking wet. There was also visible mold around the shower area, which is both unsanitary and unacceptable. Parking was another major issue. It was overbooked during my stay, and the nearest available lot was a 10-minute walk from the property. During the evenings, staff members and their friends congregated in the small waiting area. This made grabbing a drink from the vending machine feel uncomfortable, as guests were watched closely and the atmosphere felt unprofessional. Additionally, housekeeping played loud music in the hallway as early as 9 a.m., and the ceilings were so thin that I could hear movement and noise from the rooms above throughout the early morning hours.

If you run hot - stay away from room 242.

Nice staff, cute small hotel. My experience was impacted by inability to get the radiator off or turned down in my room. AC couldn’t really counter it so was just too warm for me. No fan or anything to help out. I think staff really did try but to no luck. So if you run hot. Don’t stay in room 242. Or I guess if you are always cold, get 242.

Overall good place with decent location

Good location, close to most of the museums and other sites I wanted to visit. Overall it was clean and decently lit outside. I did notice a small stain in the bottom corner of the fitted sheet on the bed, but other than that it was clean. Mini fridge, air/heat, and tv worked well. The only weird thing was there was no shelf at all in the shower, had to keep my toiletries on the floor by the glass partition. Other than that it was a decent stay. I would stay again.

It's a great value spot, and I really enjoyed it! It was clean and friendly. If you are looking for immaculate paint jobs or amenities, maybe spend a bit more. The area is objectively safe and fine, but if you aren't familiar with big city poverty and homelessness you might be disturbed by some corners that are within a couple blocks of the inn.

I absolutely love going to this hotel! It is the only place I say when visiting the city. I’ve stayed here a few times and never been left disappointed. The last time I stayed they were so kind to upgrade me to a bigger room just because !! How awesome is that !?! The staff is very polite they are always helpful when I ask for help and the place is always clean . Beds are comfortable, the sheets and pillow clean and the washroom kept impeccable. I can’t wait to stay here again .. I love this hotel.

Great property for solo travellers. Pleasant experience and room was great, has everything you need. Is a short walk from convenience store. In the late morning it was very noisy from construction outside but hotel not to blame for this and is to be expected with the central location.

Overall this was an okay stay. Didn't get much sleep, the doors are spring loaded and slam all night long. No shelves in the shower l, and the property felt like it needed more intentional construction. Things like the toilet paper holder that wouldn't stay up, small things that would really make this a class hotel
