Found a chicken bone and a roach in the hallway walking to my room. The front desk closes at 10PM which is fine but it then took 3 calls to get someone myself and others were waiting since 10:10. The extended stay service center tried 3 times to get the late night front desk person and was only able to get someone after the 3rd attempt

The elevator wasn’t working and we had to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs with a toddler and luggage. We asked if there was another room on a lower available. They said no. Then there isn’t any ice machines available on the premises. They told us to use the ice trays they provided in the rooms . The rooms didn’t have tissue boxes or coffee makers or a blow dryer. They also didn’t have toiletries in the room nor did they have an iron or an iron board .the only good this is the stove top and the microwave.

Upon arrival, AFTER checking in, I was informed that the elevator is not working and my room is on the third floor, so I’d have to take the stairs. There has been no indication in this whole booking process that the elevators were down. Since I checked in at 9:30 PM and my cancellation period had expired at 6 pm, I packed up my things and headed up to my room. To my surprise, someone was already in there. My key worked fine. Very concerning they give keys to occupied rooms. Clearly safety is a big concern if you choose to stay here. I walked back down the stairs – had to call the “after hours Hotline“ to get assistance with a new key because the front desk was closed now. The front desk opened within 5 minutes and they gave me another room - still on the third floor - so I walked back up. I will never stay at another Extended Stay America and highly recommend not ever staying at this one.

When I first arrived to check in , I waited 20 mins before the front attendant returned. Once she greeted me she informed me the elevators weren’t working and the only available rooms were on the 4th floor. I wasn’t thrilled about that news as I had arrived with quite a few heavy bags. She offered to place me in room closest to the stairwell. I walked down the 1st floor hallway and into the stair well, once I reached the 3rd floor landing there was a pungent smell of feces. I hadn’t seen it as I passed but my friend did. I immediately became nauseous and disgusted. I reached the door to the 4th floor and was once again met with a foul odor of urine and air freshener. I felt like vomitting. I was so upset because I’ve stayed at many extended stays and have never had a terrible experience. I returned to the front desk and the attendant placed me in a room on the opposite end of the building still on the 4th floor. The room smelled but I opened the window to let it clear out. Hoping I could relax, I sat down to turn on the TV. It showed “no signal”. The tv didn’t work. The following morning (Tuesday) I went to speak to the manager about my check in experience. Mary Ann was very dismissive, never apologized although she acknowledged that her staff was made aware by me that someone had defecated in the stairwell. She simply said that it had been cleaned and that they can’t control what other people do. I have NEVER experienced what I experienced at Extended Stay North EVER.

The room was okay it just had a distant smell that made my head hurt I went to see if they had eliminated spray to get the smell out she stated housekeeping left for the day but other than that everything else ok
