Great spot. Sure it may not be the nicest hotel room you'll ever stay in, but what it lacks in space, it makes up for in location and legacy. Very cool. We'll stay again no doubt.

We stayed in an oceanfront suite at The Colony Hotel, and it was such a fun, iconic Miami Beach experience. One of my favorite parts was having a view of the famous neon sign from two different windows — such a classic South Beach moment — though lights on three of the letters were out during our stay, which did dampen some of our photos in the evening. We also loved looking out over the main street and the ocean and taking in all the activity day and night. Art Basel had a tent set up that blocked part of the ocean view, but we could still see enough that it didn’t spoil things. The windows were pretty dirty, but it was nice that they opened fully, letting in fresh air and the sounds of the street below. The history and character of the hotel really added to the charm. It’s one of those places you instantly recognize from movies, TV shows, and photos of South Beach, and staying there made us feel like we were stepping into that world. We also appreciated how the hotel embraces its connection to Scarface — it adds a fun, nostalgic touch to the experience. At checkout, the front desk staff was genuinely warm and made a point to ask if we had enjoyed our stay. It was a thoughtful touch and a nice way to wrap up our visit. Overall, a memorable stay in a truly iconic Miami Beach spot.

The hotel is very old so there is a smell in the room. We had to purchase febreeze from CVS. Also we had to go the front desk every day to get fresh towels as the housekeeper never put fresh ones in our room.

Beach was 150 metres away, across a park. But easy to reach. Very loud, at front of hotel. I used my “white noise” phone app to block bar noise from just below my room. Room was compact. Nice rainfall shower. Food was good too. Everything very expensive of course.

Check in when great got in earlier than expected. But the tv remote wouldn’t work tv. When to front desk for assistance he said he would be right up. Hour goes by no show went back to desk no one there. Room was above an unknown night club 1:45am no sleep went and asked if the music ever stopped. Was told it would in about 5 minutes. 2:45 it finally stopped. Room was nice and clean.

Mariana at the front desk was delightful and so helpful in getting our car valet parked and fixing our TV remote! Our room at the Colony was indeed tiny, with older creaky beds that could use new pillows, but it was scrupulously clean and neat. Towels and linens were immaculate. We were only missing actual conditioner and body lotion from the usually expected toiletries. We were looking for an authentic taste of Art Deco South Beach and this put us right in the middle of it at a very reasonable price! The vibe is priceless and the vintage elevator a treat! Of course the Scarface mannequin in the white caddy convertible parked out front is charming 😀👍 We will definitely return for a longer visit when the opportunity arises!
